  1. Here it is 10:15 in Paris and the Sun just set. This is going to take some getting use to as total darkness will not be until close to 11 PM.

  2. Thanks Joe. I haven't tried any other Old Spice dupes. I was just comparing my memory of my adult relatives' Old Spice ( Shulton) to Stirling's. However, Seaforth Spice is supposedly an excellent dupe. I would dare say that it may be a better quality soap than Stirling.

  4. June 25 SOTA

    Good afternoon.

    1955 Gillette RedTip
    ShaverBoy DE Blade (5)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 22 hrs

    Decided to do another easy safety razor shave. I chose the mild RedTip because I had less than a days growth. I am going to services this evening so I picked Midnight Lavender. I don't need to bore you guys with my repeated praises for this soap. The pic says it all:

    Did a 3 passer for an error-free BBS shave. The alum feedback was quite pronounced on my neck which I expected because I normally don't do 3 passes. Splashed on the matching aftershave and I look and smell fine. Tomorrow, I will be doing a straight razor shave Max and Artie are complaining so I have to bring them out before the end of June. Take care

    Lather: Pre de Provence No. 63
    Aftershave: Pre de Provence No. 63 Aftershave Balm

    Excellent three pass shave with the TI and the No. 63 software. I will be using this set up until Thursday when I will shift focus to a more Mediterranean focus with an Italian citrus scent of the Stirling Piacenza.

    Hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

  7. Good evening gents. Sunday’s shave of the day. Figured I’d use one of my artisan soaps again. Stirling Deep Blue Sea. Cold water rinse face later with my Semogue 830. 1948 Gillette Aristocrat. Post shave, vintage Old Spice Lime after shave. No blood today. Smooth, quick 3 pass shave today. BBS. 10/10 shave overall. Of course the fragrance of the day is going to be, Initio Parfums, Rehab.

    Hi Myles. Nice looking brush, I love the splay on the brush, it looks like no mercy was given to this one! 10/10 for a shave is cool.

    Just the Basics June/Gillette

    26  Jun 2023.jpg

    24 hours pre work shave. 5 degrees C outside. Mild Menthol Monday anyway...

    Prep = Usual
    Razor = Gillette Flare tip
    Blade = Gillette 7 o’clock, Day 1
    Soap = Stirling Orange Chill, I want to finish this, it lathers well, getting bored with it though, I think samples are a good idea, imagine trying to finish a whole tub of something that is only just "OK"
    Brush = Omega 49, nice performer

    The Flare tip felt mild, meaning it needed 3 full passes plus touch ups. Being a mild razor, ATG was feasible in all areas as required. More pressure was feasible in most areas
    Damage = none

    Post = left over lather, warm and cold rinse, Thayers, Brut, Proraso ASB

    Hmm, bit disappointed with the Flare tip, nice safe shave, after my recent slant shave this is tame, tame but safe.

    Nice easy start to the week - have a great Monday folks
