Do you polish your old razors?

Someone mentioned polishing some spots off his 1947 Super Speed.
Besides cleaning with Scrubbing Bubbles, can you take it a step further to brighten up your stainless steel, and gold razors? What would you use? Thanks.

Mother's Mag polish works pretty good too, if you don't care for ordering off Amazon. In my area, at least, Flitz is not available in any stores.

The least invasive thing to use is Razor Emporium's polishing cloth.

Edit: gold plated razors only get the cloth used on them in my house. Gold plating on razors tends to be similar to that on 50¢ toys from a vending machine- very thin.

@PLANofMAN - I've got some Mother's Mag polish I use once a year to clear up the oxidation on my headlamps and wondered if it would work for this. Thanks for the information!

Only when the plating is intact, and then only nickel. Never gold, for the reasons well stated above.
