It's probably Golden Delicious vs. McIntosh, but I tried the DS Cosmetics GC knockoff again a couple of times last week -- the S9, which I believe has a .8x gap. I didn't really like it that much -- it wasn't very smooth, but I didn't get any irritation.
I am on the email waiting list for the .68-P base, but the idea of leaving the RRGC .76-P idle is irksome to me. To alleviate my angst, I have begun a two-razor regimen (using Astra Platinum blades). With-grain and across-grain passes are done with the RRGC .76-P and my against-grain pass (& touch-ups) is done with the tuned up (cleaned & greased threads) Merkur 34c. The RRGC .76-P cuts closer than the Merkur 34c with- and across- and the final result after the against-grain pass with the Merkur 34c seems a bit closer and requires fewer touch-ups. I will keep a tab on blade usage. I would expect the blade in the Merkur 34c to last (theoretically) through 3x as many shaves and the RRCG .76-P to last half again as many shaves as my 34c-only one-razor regimen (4-5-ish shaves with the 34c-only regimen). Anyone else use more than one razor per shaving session? Final note: I picked up a Parker shavette and shaved with it two passes: with- and against-. What a bloody mess. I am not good with that tool.
I picked up one of those. Then I proceeded to throw it into the trash. The AC style blade shavettes are much better and the Kai blades are more mild. I have a CJB and it works great. Here is a video(not me):
I have a Weber Razor, Also have several Rockwell Razors, wish I would have bought more than one Weber Razor. The Weber is my favorite and than my Rockwell Razors.
borrowed 34c from friend, very nice, but he says new ones are milder,i thought this was very mild,he bought about 10 years ago he thinks,i like even better than feather as-d2 and maybe progress,34c very smooth with astra sp
