I completed shave # 80 using the Stirling Arkadia, and the donut hole continues to expand slowly. I'm guessing there are ~20 shaves remaining on the puck, assuming I continue with my Goldilocks lathering method. The soap is great, but I'm ready to be done with it.
I reverted back to daily shaving, and the Gillette Red Tip has performed wonderfully. I'm on the verge of 3017ing bottles of Fine L'Orange Noir aftershave and Thayer's Witch Hazel. I'm down to ~20 Astra SP blades and will continue until they are gone. They are very good blades, in my experience.
I spotted what appeared to be a nearly NOS gold-plated Valet Auto Strop razor in the box at a local antique shop. I know nothing about these razors, but it was priced at $20 which seemed fair. What took my eye, though, was the Bigelow Parkin folding safety razor laying in the box too. I'm guessing $15 would get 'em both. I'm somewhat tempted.
I'm keeping tabs on my weight and exercise while I'm on the road. I'm down 18 lbs, with about 12 remaining. Rochester is a very walkable town, and we've been logging plenty of steps each day. The big highlight of our trip, however, is that my Bride's medical news has been good so far. We have a few more appointments before we head back to the hills.
Murphy's Law showed up back home, however. We apparently had a water leak in our lawn irrigation system. I got a couple of high-usage alerts before having the water shut off at the meter. We're thankful that the leak was not inside the house.
Well, that's the news from Lake Wobegon. I hope you all are having a fantastic week.
