It seems I wasn't the only one who got burnt out trying to keep up. I did very much miss the friendship and camaraderie and am enjoying hearing from all of you!

:signs002: Some serious black bristles in that knot, Charlie...I'd be plucking them out.

Ha! That’s funny Joseph :D When I first received the brush from Connaught, I did indeed clip a few offending bristles. The ones that remain don’t bother me and add an undefinable depth of character. I dig it. It’s breaking in very nicely. I probably have about three dozen shaves with it. Oh, it’s a fine brush! My first Omega, soon to be joined by a similar brush in Ivory. Embrace your OCD:cool:

I hope you all appreciate the effort I put into taking that pic. I even broke out the microfiber cleaning cloth to wipe away the two years of soap scum that was accumulating on the razor.

Shave this morning was in the shower, as most are these days. I find that in the shower you don't need to worry too much about hydrating the lather because it will pull the extra moisture it needs out of the air. Drama free autopilot shave and the two+ week old persona is showing no signs of dulling.

Have a great evening my friends!

I also took a sabbatical. I agree the pace of this thread suits me and its good to 'meet' old friends again.

Happy Thursday. This week is going by so quickly. The little Shavemac Beagle ate through the soap this morning. The 2 band not has a lot of backbone and scratch. With more use, I hope the knot loosens up some. Another excellent shave this morning. I really can't ask for better. I hope everyone has a great day.

Thank you, gents! I am going to 3017 this soap. It may take a while though, it's still a pretty full tub.

    Day 7
I agree with Clint- these SV pucks do soften up a bit with consistent use. Still generate a tremendous lather with very little product though. I suspect that those who opine negatively about the price of this soap (and some other 3x pucks) have never used them. If they did, they’d know that they’re actually much more economical than a $30 soft soap. I’ll put away my microphone now.

I mean, does the price of the puck really matter? They all last too long anyways.
