The De Vergulde Hand Shave Soap lathered well with the Red and Black Badger Brush by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the 1902 Kampfe Brothers/Star Lather Catcher Razor and a Star Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My dear friend Abir in Kolkata, India is the owner of Captain Nemo Shaving Supplies and he makes some of the BEST soaps and aftershaves I ever had the pleasure of using. His soaps are all vegan based - this Retro Barbershop has such a beautiful old school scent that reminds me of the 60s, it gives AWESOME lather that’s so thick, rich, slick as well as protective, and it leaves my skin feeling so spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The Bombay Shaving Company balm has a very nice scent and it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing - there’s also a bit of a cooling sensation so that a very nice bonus. Finally the Brut aftershave and cologne had me smelling great. The Rapira blade is finito capito but it still gave me one last hoorah with a terrific three pass BBS shave that was so enjoyable. Soon it’s off to the golf course for a fun filled day with some buddies of mine!

This puck of Cryogen is very disappointing. Either it's old and the menthol diffused out, or it was made much weaker than the last time I bought it (years ago)...basically no cold. Excellent shave otherwise, the soap itself performed fine. The G-bar always does well and feels great in the hand.

Avon Tai Winds paired with a complimentary shot of Roman Brio cologne. Smells good, man.

SE Sunday shave, Aug 6th 2023

Razor : Yaqi "Katana" SE- Mfg 2019>, tame mid range, simple clamping system but can be a bit tricky making sure the blade is aligned properly(I just take a paper tuck and bump blade in place with minimal pressure and then tighten clamp.). I'm not 100% sold on 1/2 blade razors but they do work well when loaded. They are nimble to work the face stubble area but are not a whole lot smaller than a normal DE IMO. Had a nice morning shave with no issues.
Blade : Gillette Astra 1/2 blade(1) sharp and smooth with great longevity.
Soap : Gillette Pure Cream, nice sweet clean scent with excellent lather qualities. Makes excellent ubber lather also(mixed with remnants of hard soap in bowl).
Brush : Yaqi "Ever Helpful" 22mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, excellent scrubber, reasonable lather painter. This little 2band badger has a shorter HD loft with soft tips is ideal for fellows who enjoy soft badger scrubbing IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock blue barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a excellent shave with my Yaqi Katana SE with a Gillette Astra SP blade.

I haven’t used this razor in a long time - it bit me hard once and then a second time and I just kind of stayed away. I even tried to sell it once. Anyhow, today it provided a lovely shave. All is well
