Adapting: Changing the Razor and Blade only, after my last few shaves with the Merkur Progress + Arko + Gillette Premium it was time to make some changes to see what is working and what is not
Prep = Cold water prep, white Proraso
Soap / Cream =
Arko au revoir, giving this a rest for a while after today
Brush = Ever ready 200 again, chunky little blighter this one, still not fully run in yet, but still enjoyable, nice grip, maybe the knot is a little shorter than I prefer
Bowl = Timeless
Razor = My NEW toy: Gillette NEW LC, first time use of…
Blade = Permasharp Day 1
Passes = 3 with buffing and touch ups, although 2 passes would have sufficed
Post = cold water rinse, alum was a bit zingy at the right lower neck, cold water rinse, Thayers
ASL = Clubman Pinaud sample
Scent = none let’s see if the Clubman lasts the day
Damage = None
Score = Another Super Shave = 9+/10
Comments = If I haven’t lost count this is the 5th day of a cold water shave. My skin is definitely less red and blotchy post shave. The NEW needed more care the the Merkur Progress of the last few days. Combined with the Permasharp it was not as pleasing and safe an experience, even though the Arko lathered as well as in the last few days. Less pressure in the flats and even less when approaching the valleys. Less buffing needed than usual. Less ATG needed (especially top and bottom lip areas) because the NEW is quite efficient. Even the tricky prickly chin area caved in and submitted to the attention of the NEW. Overall very satisfying Sunday shave, nice and smooth, refreshed and enjoying the Pinaud!
Hope you all have a Super Sunday and some Super Shaves
