  3. For the sake of accuracy, I erroneously stated my TI Spartacus was a 5/8, but it is actually a 6/8 razor. I corrected my post.

    Greetings,

A new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend...Continuing with Chinese clone August using the Ming Shi 2000s.

I've mentioned before in my past postings out of all my adjustable razors the Ming shi 2000 is by far the most assertive it had a very Love/Hate reputation within the wet shaving community when it first came on the market.

I was passed on mine from a friend I also have a spare one too, both of them have good blade alignment it is however a very assertive razor, even on it's lowest setting it's still a very efficient razor you must have instant shaving confidence and be it's master when shaving. It also doesn't allow bad technique, or lack of concentration and most importantly the lightest of touch and much respect is vital if not, It'll bite you for sure.

I find the Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade a great match for the Ming Shi 2000s feeling smooth & efficient.

The Ming Shi 2000s razor alone, like most of my more assertive razor's has improved my shaving confidence and technique multitude.

I never thought in a million years I would use such an efficient razor especially for a head shave...practicing my technique has gave me the shaving confidence to do so.

Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth cool and smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.
  5. Super shave Barry, nice going, it sounds like you have bonded with the Ming Shi 2000s. I see you go more aggressive on your 2nd ATG pass, there is confidence for you!
  6. Thank you Chris...I now know how to approach the Ming Shi 2000s when shaving with it. Shaving confidence & good technique are the path to comfortable traditional wet shaving.
Increasing the aggression on the ATG & pick up passes works for me, It's not a razor that every wet shaver will like granted, but since I've gained my shaving confidence and vastly improved my technique I tend to appreciate my more aggressive razors now. Aggressive/assertive razors make you more focused when shaving with them and won't allow complacency & bad technique if so, you know only too well what will be the result. Enjoy your weekend. Yours-Barry.:happy088:
  7. All shavers should be courageous and confident with their razors like you Barry. Great post, setup and pic. Have a super Saturday afternoon, Birdman.

  11. Fine shave this morning. Could have been better. but I'll take it. Nice and clean on the cheeks&left sideburn. The right sideburn sometimes doesn't look as clean as it should. Dunno why, other than to say I don't finish what I began. I'll get to it before tomorrow's shave. At the jawline I split time between going across the grain and "ice-chipping". Boy that aftershave felt niiice. I asked Doc Ezlovan to add some menthol with the regular Coniferous. 2 passes. Went for some more soap before the second pass. Very Outstanding.
  12. fine shave Paul.
  13. Thanks Gary...couldn't give it the top-grade, but it was OK(I'm no teacher, lol).
