  1. Cool brush too, how do you stop the Pura Setola label from washing off Gary? Or is this just a new brush? My onw label is wearing thin, maybe next time a light coat of varnish?

  2. I have a "label wash-off" situation with one of my Razorock soaps...I think it's the Tuscan Oud. Smells like it, anyway.
  3. thank you Chris.not sure why the label is good.the brush is a couple of years old but infrequently used.twice a month maybe?i tend to avoid handling the labels too much on most brushes.:):eatdrink047:

  4. A lovely way to close out(for now)y Fine Accoutrements Latigo combo. Soap jumped onto the brush again. Clean fresh feel on my face and neck. Aaah, there was SOME redness at the lower chin area, but I think it was a leftover from the previous day's cut. 2 passes. Zero for cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. The aftershave entered with its cool feeling. Warmed up after a while. See ya next time Latigo!(dupe of Knize 10). AsOutstanding As It Gets.
  5. Well, Gary, once again your like was RIGHT AFTER I finished this report. It's like your computer said "OK, he's done". :)
  6. i watch the thread Paul.:)
  7. Actually, your computer said this: OK, he's done(HAAAAAH-long lung breath) :).
  8. Currently on a short “deployment” to Norway, if you wanna call it that. It’s only about a month long, we have a little bit more to go till we head back to North Carolina. Anyways I was walking around the mall in town and stopped into one of the duty free stores to look around. Came across various different products. Couldn’t help my self and had to pickup two 5oz tubs up Proraso. 4 dollars a piece which was a deal in my opinion. It’ll cost you a little more to get it in the states, even then id have to order it online, because no stores seem to carry it in the states from what I’ve seen. They have some other soaps like the original Palmolive shave cream and Tabac shave soap. Might stop by and grab a puck of Tabac when I get paid again before I leave. Anyways figured I’d share the pickup I got today. Hope everyone is doing well.

  14. Fellas, I just ordered a sample cologne from the company Eight And Bob. It's a classic and I'll probably like it a lot, but I just don't have enough for their regular colognes.. The sample is 2 ML.

  15. Well, that didn't take long for me to order a soap. Lol! I purchased Captain's Choice North. I have the matching aftershave that I won in a raffle 2yrs ago, but never got the soap because it was discontinued. I just was browsing Pasteur's and they had it in stock, albeit the site said low stock. Now, I will be able to enjoy the aftershave with the matching soap, instead of using it with an unscented soap.

  17. Aug 23 SOTA

    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave #480
    Dovo
    Personna Hairshaper Blade (20)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
TSD Irish Spring SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 22.5 hrs

I decided to go with my trusty Dovo Shavette this session. It is the 20th shave on this blade and it still gave me a great 3 pass error-free BBS shave. However, I decided to not go for 21 shaves because I don't want to have a possibility of a subpar shave. Anyway, here's today's lather:

    20230823_162246.jpg

The soap was on the thin side, but that's the way I like it as long as it's not too thin like yesterday's lather. The performance of this soap was excellent, but I wish the scent was more evident. On a scale of 1-10, I would have to say 1. Alum feedback was minimal and that's beyond fine for me. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave and I am good to go. The next time that I will use this razor will be with a DE Blade snapped in half. I have used hairshaper blades for awhile and I just want to vary my routine with this razor. Take care.

    SRS # 945

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Tuckmarr 5/8” Maccassar scales
Brush: Shore Shave Creamsicle Swirl 24 mm White Synthetic
    Lather: Lather Bros. Calle Ocho
Aftershave: Black Ship Grooming Co. La Concorde
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Another fabulous shave with the Calle Ocho and the Tuckmarr straight. A small almond sized scoop of the soap, probably around 1.25 - 1.5 grams, delivered a slick and thick lather.

Three passes did the trick without any incident. I was up early to get out to have my car’s oil change and some other errand. This afternoon I completed my X3 Bar Push workout with the newly acquired Paraforce Bands. My muscles have a nice buzz going. Look out Joe, @Trigger, Beastmode is on the horizon.

Hope you all have a great day.
