August 26, 2023 Hype X1 Razor with Comfort Plate Schick Proline Alpha Shaving Outlaw Ethos Bay Rum Shave Soap Barberry Coast Bay Rum Aftershave Happy Saturday. Swati and I are going out to lunch with Maya before she goes back to Athens. I decided on the next 3017 target. @Primotenore Joseph was kind enough to PIF me a full 4 oz tub of Ethos Bay Rum shave soap. He was given the soap and already had one in his den. For some unknown reason, the first gentlemen removed all the labels from the soap container so I will need to get out the label machine or transfer it to one of my other decorative containers. After thinning so many razors from my den, I added another one. The internet and Old Fashions can be a dangerous combination. The maiden voyage of the soap and razor went off perfectly. I will enjoy using both going forward. Take care and have a great day.
Looks like some of the OG is hanging out together! Greetings, gentlemen. I haven’t posted in a long time and have been trying to reduce my den and use up my mountain of soaps a bit (actually 3017-ing a few soaps this year). However, this week I actually broke down and bought a new razor to add to my 30+ others, because… well… you know… Anyway - the new razor (a Henson) is game changer. Long story short, all my razors (except a few sentimental ones) will now be going up for sale. This morning, out of curiosity, I wondered if news of this razor had made it to the boards yet, and ran into a post from @Linuxguile asking about new razors. While there I read a post from @wristwatchb posted about this thread where some of the OG 30DC still hang out. While I seldom have any shaving info of note any longer, I do miss you guys, and I may lurk around and make fun of @wristwatchb just for old times sake. Cheers!
That is a very unique looking razor indeed, Clint. Congrats for it and for jumping right back into a 3017ing. Yes…I’ve had a few internet/old fashioned combos myself lately. Not shave related, but definitely in the ‘probably don’t need’ category…
Day 24 The shave was yesterday. I’ve had a nice run with the F plate, but will move onto a different baseplate with this razor for next shave. I’m doing a mini comparison for myself of whether the different plates lead to different results in 2 pass shaves. As for the 3017- great lathers every time.
