  2. Great to be back in touch, Keith! Speaking of getting the old band back together, did you switch instruments? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you post a shave that did not include a straight razor. What gives?
  3. IMG_0644.jpeg So, this thread inspired me to 3016 my B&M 42 soap along with a half bottle of AS given to me by Adam @Drygulch back in the day. The scent is a bit out there (as you’d expect) so it’s gonna go down next. Still, you gotta love B&M.

I really need to remember to weigh this soap soon, just to see how much I’m using. The end is nowhere in sight.
  5. Sounds like a great focus, Randy. I 3017’d my last B&M soap (Reserve Cool) early this year.
  6. Way to go Randy.

  7. I’m thinking another month with the Snake Bite. Since starting this 3017 I’ve strayed only twice. I’d like to finish it off by SEptember 30.

Happy Hump Day. Since I have to take Mom to the dentist, I had an early morning start. No worries though as this lineup plays well together delivering a wonderful shave. I hope everyone has a great day.
  9. Welcome to the thread, Randy. Excellent choice for a 3017.

Staying true to the theme of this thread. No deviations.
Excellent shave with the '47 SS and the Light Brigade.
    BBS in 3.
    Citrusy goodness to finish.
  11. Didn’t take a pic for Day 27, but did weigh the soap tonight.

    3.2 Oz.
It was at 3.5oz 9 shaves ago. 0.3 of an oz in 9 shaves :shocked029:…Yeesh, I swear this stuff is regenerating itself…
Moreso retaining water after daily usage and not airing it out, obviously.
When anyone (again) points out the price of SV soaps, I know they are someone who has never used it more than once or twice.

  12. I do not take straight razors when traveling. Way too many issues. I still use a straight razor 5-6 days a week with the remainder some kind of safety razor.
  13. SV Soaps do tend to last a very long time.

Another great shave to start the day. In the beginning, I thought that the #3 plate on this might be too much for me on a daily basis. Now after using it this week I like it better than the #2 plate.

    Recap 2023

The end of another month. This year seems to be going by very quickly. I was able to finish off the SV Felce Aromatica soap this month. I will finish off the splash when I get around to using a soap that it will compliment. As always the best part of the shaving month was hanging out with you guys. Take care and see you next month.

It was a good month of 3017 focussed shaves. It will be extending well past next month as well at this rate.
    Have a great day all.

    Eufros Tobacco~~Simpson "Rover"~~Gillette RFB/Wilkinson Chromium
Despite the granulated look, Eufros is a top-notch shave soap.
The Rover rocked out some serious suds and delivered them with
    panache.
The French-Market RFB has some good blade-feel, however the Light Brigade tames it well.
I can confidently perform an ATG pass on my über-sensitive lower neck without worry.
    BBS in 3.
  17. Lovely brush Jason.

  18. The 400 is such a classic. I believe you have a beaut of one yourself, iirc. This one came from Dave in Kentucky. It took a little elbow grease, but it was worth it. The flattop boar was an attempt to replicate the original look. There are more efficient knots out there for sure, though.
  19. Randy, here is my Friday shave. Still using straights :signs136:

My hope is to get through this TOBS by the end of September. I will use it during the week and have some variety on the weekend. My Grim Butcher blade to celebrate the end of the week.
