  2. I must make a correction to my listiing of when Royal Copenhagen aftershave began. It was in 1970, not "1940's", as I wrote. Still works as a Throwbacker. While doing this latest research, I was pleased to learn that the company of Royal Copenhagen itself began way back in 1775., on May 1. Exactly 182 years later, I was born.

    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave #486
Gillette Wilkinson Sword 1/2 DE (4)
    Schick E-3 Injector
    Ted Pella Injector Blade (8?)
    Hembree/ Maggard Timberwolf Brush
    Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS
Music City Suds Lavender and Ever Amen AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs
    Dome Turf: 2 days.

I usually do a headshave every 3 days, but I decided to do it today. The reason is my 5Oth reunion is Saturday so I want to shave that afternoon with only 2 days growth. The reason is that the chance of nicking myself is much more remote when shaving the dome with less stubble. I want to look my best. Lol! I picked my other Schick Injector (E-3) to mow the dome turf. I figure that it would be a no muss and no fuss headshave with it.

Anyway, I chose Angora Soaps Lavender because I just like everything about it. Yes, I know that I didn't use the matching aftershave, but it's still has a Lavender scent so no problem. Here's today's voluminous lather:

Everything went well. Did a 3 pass face shave with my shavette and a 3 pass dome shave with my more aggressive E-3. I achieved a BBS result all the way around.
Did get a few zings from the alum, but not a big deal. Finished with my usual postshave routine to end this wonderful session. Take care.

  7. Real good shave today. Clean and clear across the board(or across the "face and neck"-chuk yuk yuk....you didn't read that). Zero Cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. 2 passes. Closed out again with Millionaire cologne(Lomani-Paris). About colognes, for the cold-weather days, I'm going to try to spread some on my clothes, as I have read men like to do. Wonder how much comes off in the laundry. Anyway....As Outstanding As It Gets.

    SRS # 954 - Fougere Friday Shave - Brocha

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Genco-Old Dutch 3/4”
Brush: Jayaruh 382 “Civil War” Boar
Lather: Old Cahaba Shave Club Brocha
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Brocha
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Another fantastic Fougere Friday shave. The Genco straight easily mowed down this morning’s growth. The Jayaruh boar masterfully whipped up a nice lather from a small almond sized scoop of the Brocha.

Temperatures are slightly cool but the humidity has not abated. The pool is definitely calling.

Hope you all have a great day.

  20. Thanks Joe. Unfortunately, I didn't have any high school sweethearts. I have seen some of the ladies at my 45th and let me say that I was quite saddened to see how most of them looked. The guys didn't look that great either.
