The La Toja Shave Stick lathered well with Jayaruh #292 High Mtn White badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Joseph Elliot 6/8 Straight Razor gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and then Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This De Vergulde Hand Extra Fris soap may be cheap as chips but is it ever terrific. The scent is clean and soapy with some aquatic notes - it’s very pleasant, it’s so easy to lather, and it leaves a comfortable postshave feeling. I don’t really care for the scent of the Nivea balm but it’s so soothing as well as moisturizing, therefore I can tolerate it, the Max Disinfecting aftershave from Bulgaria stings like a bugger for a couple of seconds but then it feels great, and it’s nice scent moves out of the way for the gorgeous Bleu de Chanel fragrance that I love so much. A most delightful three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed so much and now I’m off to the synagogue.

DE SOTD, Saturday, September 16th 2023

Razor : Razorock German 37 slant- Mfg 2016>, mid range. Very well designed razor with some tab overhang. I got my first BBS with this razor and still enjoy using it in my large razor rotation. Had a very comfortable close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : GSB(2) sharp and smooth.
Soap : Tabac, great soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " mysterious space" 24mm Timber wolf knot, Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Blue barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave this morning with my RR German 37 slant with a GSB blade.

Freshly honed German made razor. I shaved with this on Monday, a little last reporting this. The edge was very smooth and noisy. I had a nice 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Very well made razor.

Razor- J.Wadsworth Razor Co. Germany
Brush- @oscar11 Special, with a synthetic knot. Wonderful feel.
Soap- ARKO
Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

 

Freshly honed. This is an old French near wedge razor. I had an OK shave with this razor, it was my second try at honing it. A little tuggy on the first pass, with 4 days growth. The second pass ATG was much smoother. End result was a DFS.

Razor- DF France. Near Wedge.
Brush- Rubberset 400, No 4.
Soap- AOS Kingsman, Bourbon.
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Magic 1870 decanter.

Stirling Arkadia/Shave # 109

I'm primarily a face latherer, but I decided to try bowl lathering in order to finish out this puck of Stirling Arkadia. About 10 years ago, I purchased a large Robert Becker scuttle that I have never used. Today was my first attempt at bowl lathering. I'm a fan.
