Two passes and touch ups with the Schick I Hydro-magic and Personna injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. Wednesday morning’s Grand Freeze: Capra soap as a facial wash Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Canadian Tech/Astra Green day 10 Bundubeard Cool as a Cucumber SS (with Glacial type menthol) Prep ASB Osage Rub AS Splash Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick Bleu de Chanel EdP Although I’m not a big fan of glycerine soaps my dear brother Jaco in Pretoria, South Africa makes some fantastic ones and his Cool as a Cucumber is a treasure. This version has a very nice scent - along with the cucumber you get a strong blast of peppermint, the soap looks exactly like the Yeti Snot which is another glycerine based soap but this one is so easy to lather, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the skincare is superb - to me it’s a million times better than the Yeti Snot. The Prep and the Osage Rub were a perfect finishing combo. Last but not least the gorgeous Bleu de Chanel fragrance and I’m all set to enjoy another day of retirement. Hi Friends, Here my belated Sunday Shave (and my last vacation shave) 24.09.2023 Razor: Leaf Twig // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: Sudsy Soapery Lavender & Peppermint // Brush: Shavemac Lotus Cocobolo G5C // Aftershave: Ralon Toooo sad that our vacation is over now. We are back home but both of us are missing the time yet. Could be a few weeks more… The last shave was my very first shave shave with the Leaf Twig. A razor which is called very gentle, smooth and thoroughly. And yes, man it is…it shaves like there is no blade in it (at least you can feel the blade while shaving). The soap got me hooked. It is a stellar mix of Lavender with a touch of Peppermint which brings a good „freshness“ to it, without dominating the Lavender. Lather was thick and yoghurty which tons of cushion and glide. I love Sudsy Soapery. For the end of the shave i used the Ralon Aftershave again and it paired quite nice with the soap. Lovely. On Sunday we did a tour to „Gaisalpe“ which is a 2 hour walk straight upwards the mountain. The view was spectacular but take a look yourself. That is it for now friends. I got to try out the Captain Nemo Absolute Zero today. @Yehuda D is a big fan so I was pretty sure I would not be disappointed and I was not. Nice mild mentholated scent and pure bracing cold on the skin for a very refreshing shave. SLANTemper, Wednesday, September 27th 2023 Razor : Yaqi SLOPE slant 316 SS torsional type with a coated chrome matte Yaqi brass handle- Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range depending on blades used, Yaqi uses a sloped safety bar to keep a similar blade gap under torsion to Mfg a unique torsional slant that is very rare to find IMO. Had a comfortable close shave this morning. Blade : Kai extra wide, sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Top tier blade in my collection. Soap : Cyril R Salter Wild Rose cream, nice scent of roses that is 6/10 strength. Nice soap for a change up going into fall. Brush : Yaqi "Bali" 24mm 3band silvertip badger, excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber, great lather painter. Very nice large bloom in this brush that can be a slight lather hog but worthy of great performance has been my experiences. Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : witch hazel beard cleanse + Neiva refreshing splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SLOPE torsional slant with a Kai SS extra wide(great pairing of razor + blade for myself). Have some great shaves!
