Here's something that has helped me, Paul. Over the last few years, I've paid more attention to my footwear. Up until recently, I kept shoes and socks until the support system was gone. (I know how to 3017 shoes and socks.

) I was raised to keep my shoes until they looked worn out...not the best idea. I recycle footwear more frequently these days. I replaced all my indoor shoes with those having tread on the sole in order to safely navigate hardwood floors and stairs. I also invested in moisture-wicking athletic socks (I like Balega) and recently swapped out every pair in my sock drawer.
When I had my garage floor coated, I added some silica to the mix for better traction. I put up handrails on both sides of the two steps leading from the house out to the garage. And next week, we're having some steps installed on our rear patio for safer access to our basement. I think all this contributes to safer, more sure footing for me, Kathy, and anyone who visits.
Take a few minutes and consider your situation, or invite a friend over to look over things with you. I bet you'll come up with an idea or two that will be helpful in addition to seeing your PCP and taking a bit more care in general. Be careful out there. Some people wear Clubman in public, and one could easily be overwhelmed and rendered unconscious by an odiferous cloud.
