Bought an old safety razor - is it unusuable?

Hello, apologizes if this is the wrong sub-forum or place to ask this question.
Recently I bought a Gillette M2 Slim Safety Razor and this is my second ever safety razor, and the first one I've bought second hand. I did not buy this with the sole intent on using it but I am curious on whether or not I can. It seems to be rusted and has some green I assume oxidation? I tried cleaning it with just some soap or lemon juice but it didn't really do much. Does anyone here know what I'm dealing with and if it's just gone and something I can look at or something I could actually use? Thank you.
If better pictures are needed, let me know

Some of the plating is gone on the doors, but not to worry. Just get some silver polish, and an old rag, and polish it out. Use an old toothbrush for the nooks, crannies, and handle. It should be a fine shaving razor after that. Toothpastes will work too, but they can be a little abrasive. BTW, that razor is called a Gillette Slim Adjustable. You can narrow down the date it was produced, within a three month period by the letter and number under the base plate.

Thank you! I'll try toothpaste. I just realized how bad those photos were so here's some more that show the nook and crannies. Also the letter and number on the back say M2 which is why I called it that, so thank you for letting me know.
You don't think this is rust or anything to fear?

…and even really ugly and battered Slims can still make great shavers as long as the doors sit trim and the guard bars are straight and even. If the rust is significant, the dimensions of the metal change which could cause a problem, but not often, That green crap might leave the metal oxidised, making it less than shiny in spots, but it is likely your razor will clean up pretty good and give you good shaves. . Have fun!

These do not rust. They are made of Nickel Plated Brass. The brass can oxidize when the plating wears through. Easy to take care of and polish out. Just dry your razor after each use.

If I'm correct M-2 would make it a 1967 2nd quarter Gillette. You're gonna like how it shaves. I really like my Slim, and it's a 1965 model.

You can use Scrubbing Bubbles to sanitize and clean. Non-bleach formula.

More rough than anything I've dealt with. Restoration can be more costly than just finding one already in better condition. Better off to just getting into usable shape and see how you like it first with the information already posted.

I’d put it in a mixture of blue Dawn and warm water, and then let it sit in that mixture overnight, then scrub with Dawn and a soft toothbrush. I’ve used Magic polish with good results.

    I swear by Scrubbing Bubbles.
    1) Eats soap scum
    B) Disinfects
III) Leaves the razor nice and shiny

Personally saying, I'd send it out for a re-plating, it will also be cleaned and adjusted to a new condition.
