Great way to close out(until next time)the Clubman/Razorock Barbershop combo. The Clubman brush confirmed my betting and put a nice load of soap on my face and neck. Only one glitch prevented a top-grade shave-a polka-dot on Cactus Nation(neck). Other than that, very happy. Again, I did leave some extra astroturf around the Ingrown Swamp area along NW Cactus. Shame on me for that. 2 passes. Enjoyed the Clubman A.S.(as I have since I was a teen). Super Duper Outstanding.

Thank you Joe. I like bowl lathering with creams, I find I get the best results. I do occasionally just apply the cream to a damp brush, normally synthetic and face lather which gives equally good results. Enjoy your Saturday.

Thank you John...I'll keep the SE /comb plate in mind for my Supply V2. I really like the performance & shaves that I get from the original baseplates.

Back to a shavette shave. I picked out The Shave Den Orange set because I haven't used it in awhile. For some reason, the scent was easier to pick up off the puck, however it still is mildly scented. I will say that the lather performed well. Here is my lather:

Three passes gave me a nice shave, but did get a weep on my right cheek. Alum feedback was there, but it was not awful. Hit the face with the witch hazel and the matching aftershave. I videoed this shave and will download it from YouTube sometime this week. Take care.

Real nice shave Sunday(today). I brought out the Razorock 3x-milled Italian Shaving Soap(glass jar). It's a good choice to match with a Bay Rum A.S Clean and clear all around, no cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots. North Porcupine(just under the nose) required some extra work to get it all, especially the right side, which has been bothering me of late. 2 passes. Lots left inside the glass. I'm SLOWLY beginning to accept the Gabels B.R. aftershave-there is some clove in it, but doesn't overpower. It's all right. As Outstanding As It Gets. Hope to have the same result tomorrow, we'll see.

Here is the gear I’m going to try and use this month. I have to be transparent and say that I don’t have very good bowl lathering skills. I tried using a badger brush and gave up on that right away.

I think the biggest issue is getting enough soap loaded so I can make a decent slick and thick lather. I’ll be grating Arko and pushing it down in that Seaforth mug and seeing what happens then.

However, I was able to blissfullly scalp lather and get a great slick coating using a synthetic brush.

    More soap!

    Prep: shower
Lather: Arko and enhanced with Proraso cream dab
    Brush: RR Plissoft
    Razor: Blackland Blackbird
    Blade: Rapira (1)
Post: liberal application of alum block to stop scalp nicks and Captains Choice Bay Rum

2 passes to the dome and one on the neck and cheeks has me ready for Sunday and beyond.

Lovely shave Barry. I like Pinaud-Clubman products. Does the soap smell like the aftershave? Enjoy your afternoon.

Wonderful setup and shave Troy. Although I can bowl lather with any brush, I find synthetics make it easier to bowl lather.

    Good morning all.
Switched blade holders just for a little change of pace.

    20231105_103119.jpg

A Yaqi Top Agressive slant, so it's called anyways.
Well I got a good beard mowing today, though not as close as using my normal implement of torture.
I used 20 ml of distilled water to make some outstanding lather.

I had typed that I used 3 or 4 pumps of water to make enough for a full head and face shave, that didn't seem fair.
So this morning I measured it out to be more exact to anyone who cared.
    ..........
    Edit
I used about 5 grams of PAA shaving soap.
Or 1 1/4 teaspoons if you're wanting to know.
Sorry I didn't include that too
    .............

A wonderful battle of beard and blade ensued.
The blade won in a spectacular defeat for the beard.
Noting the beard hasn't give up, should return tomorrow, at dawn, for another round.

    Enjoy

That's correct Paul. You only need a small amount for each shave.
