November 9, 2023 High Proof Razor Feather DE Zenith B25 Boar Mike’s Vetiver Guerlain Vetiver EdT Happy Thursday Everyone! Since I have a serious case of “RAD” with absolutely little to no patience, I had to break out my new razor for today’s shave. I admit I am a big fan of the OneBlade razor but not so much the FHS blades. The High Proof razor looked like a OneBlade that would take a half DE blade. I had hoped the Focus R48 would be that razor but it was anything but user friendly. Thankfully the High Proof razor was everything I had hoped it would be. The shave was idiot proof and super smooth. I really could not ask for better. For someone coming from cartridge razors this is perfect razor. I can see myself using this razor a lot. Day 5 November 9th Canadian Rocket w Nacet (2) APShave flattop/ Sapele Mike’s Orange, Cedar & Pepper Historic Embargo AS I actually bloomed the puck this morning. Literally have not done that in years. Some moisture made a difference for sure. Have a good day all.
Thursday, November 9 Mike's Vetiver~~Simpson PL8~~Gillette RFB/Gillette Platinum~~Tom Ford Grey Vetiver This RFB is made in France for the English market*. Fun to use. The Gillette Platinum was sharp enough to get the job done. It's now binned. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is a glorious stank. *Correction: Made in England for the French Market. Thank you @brit
Three major influences in my selection of my next 3017 target. First I am now flush with tallow Tabac thanks to my watch Sensie. Seeing the Mike's soap challenge I wanted to join in but didn't have a puck of Mike's so I picked another great performer. Third I am still inspired by my trip to the holly of hollies, Piggly Wiggly. This puck is 80%+ left so it will take a while to finish. For the first shave of this challenge, I went with my Koraat 14 2.0 bellied hollow in red scales with a matching red Varlet brush. Finished it off with one of my favorite stanks, Montale Aoud Cuir D'Arabie. I woke up a little late this morning so a Cobra Classic for the quick shave. As a nod to my tallow Tabac guardian angel.... Great to see old friends going the thread.
