Very nice, Clint. I feel the same way about Autumn here in the Rockies, too. Colder than where you are for sure, but still warmth in the sun after crisp mornings. Btw- did you get tired of wrestling with the pressure fit lid as well, or was there another reason for the tub swap on the Mikes?
I didn't mind the lid as much as the shallow tub. This one really allows me to attack the soap with vigor and not mess up the vanity.
Tuesday, November 14 Mike's Vetiver~~Simpson CH3~~Detroit National~~Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Don't reach for the vintage CH3 often. I kind of baby it. Man, oh man, is it soft. Love the butterscotch, as well. Went for the National again. Rather than return to the stones, I stropped it on a balsa board---one side with FeOx and the other with CrOx. Then I used my two leather strops and focussed on keeping the blade flat. Results were better than Sunday, but the shave won't pass the cotton ball test. Picking up on what @jtspartan mentioned...when I first got into this game, I was all about matching soaps and aftershaves. I have LONG given that up. I came to the conclusion, that after rinsing my face with witch hazel there is no more shave soap scent. And while I am 3017'ing three products at the same time, I still choose my stank (normally) according to my mood.
@jtspartan and @Primotenore you guys are right on matching aftershaves. I am saving my Fine Fresh Vetiver and Fine Green Vetiver since they are not currently available. I am trying to finish of after shaves and move to frags instead. But I am focusing on dupes of well known frags instead.
100%. I have a few unobtainables as well. Maybe I baby them too much…I have Fine 3x pucks that aren’t even out of the box yet.

Same here. I'm working through my aftershaves one-by-one and eventually moving primarily to frags only. Alum (sometimes), witch hazel, and USB are plenty good for my post-shave routine anyway. It'll take awhile as I have a bunch of full AS bottles stocked away.
You're in good company here, Jason. I have an embarrassing amount of tallow Tabac and tallow MWF in storage.
In the fall, guys around here don't shave for a week, spray themselves with deer scent, and sit in tree stands with all manner of weaponry. I bet my Bride never thought she'd find a guy that spends time chasing BBS shaves and plays with shave soaps, aftershaves, and colognes in the bathroom. She advised me to keep this to myself.
i still buy the occasional aftershave in a soap/splash set like seaforth! Black Watch etc,but when i use my frags i use generic or lightly scented shave soaps/creams and witch hazel/unscented aftershaves.
