Thursday, November 16 Mike's Vetiver~~Simpson T3~~Feather AS-D2~~Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Friday, November 17 Mike's Vetiver~~Simpson "The Hive"~~Cobra Classic~~Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Had to catch up with my postings. The Mike's continues its demise, as does the TF. The CC is officially my most aggressive razor. Dare I say, even MORE so than my straights.
Fantastic setup and good progress on the Mike's. "The Hive" is a classy looking brush. My Mike's is depleting as well, although I will likely be the last one of the bunch to finish my 3017. I shave every 36 to 48 hours these days, so that is the main factor. I load a bit heavier than normal, forming an initial lather on the puck, but I'm still primarily a face latherer. I have plenty for my normal 2+ pass shaves but not much left over. Mike's is definitely in my top 5...great performance, and the Hungarian Lavender scent is very enjoyable. I broke out my Gillette NEW LC this past week, and it is probably my all-time favorite razor. I'm nearly half finished with a bottle of Fine L'Orange Noir aftershave. Like others here, I don't worry too much about pairing soaps and stanks. I figure the soap scent is mostly gone after the shave is complete. I've also nearly worked through my inventory of Thayer's Witch Hazel and Astra SP blades. I have to laugh at myself over how I've chosen to pile up so much stuff in inventory over the years. At least I'm heading in the right direction for now. I hope you all have a great weekend. Happy Early Thanksgiving!
Thankfully, @Keithmax pulled some strings at the PW Gurley, AL field office. Your Pig Swag is on the way, Paul!
November 18, 2023 Charcoal Goods Everyday Razor Gillette 7 O’clock Black Paladin Mike’s Vetiver Afnan Supremacy Silver Happy Saturday Everyone. I just love watching college football on Saturday. Nothing new on the shave front. Take care and have a great day.
Saturday, November 18 Mike's Vetiver~~Declaration Grooming B5 Hucklaration~~Cooper MonoBilt/Sharp Star~~Tom Ford Grey Vetiver After an afternoon of painting, a shower and a shave were in order. My recent MonoBilt focus really paid off, as I got a close shave without incident. The Mike's continues to lather like a champ.
I love watching it too. I frown, though, when I watch a game hosted by Stanford. What a lovely stadium they had before it became "modernized". I now call it "Herbert Hoover Field".
Maybe after I finish this Tabac puck. I also have a jar of the MdC Fogere that maybe nominated. The MdC soaps last a very loooong time. Happy to help, need to keep practicing my rural Alabama draw.
Hi all! Well, the tube of Dettol is no more. I was about to say last week, but I guess it was the week before? That sure went by fast. So I dug out my ancient Mike's vetiver and joined that effort in progress. Still sticking mainly with the Jaguar beast. It's breaking in nicely.
Sunday, November 19 Mike's Vetiver~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor~~Cobra Classic~~Tom Ford Grey Vetiver The Simpson Astor is truly regal. The 24mm, Two-Band is vitually "scrub-free" Plenty of backbone to pick up a good amount of soap. You can see how shiny the lather is. Cobra Classic was a tamed beast.
