Prep = Tepid Water Prep and shave, Tabac in a tube as Pre shave
Soap / Cream = Razorock XXX first time use of
Brush = Omega bristle 10049
Bowl = Cheap deep white plastic bowl
Razor = Gillette Red Tip replated
Blade = Gillette Platinum (3)
Passes = 2 +
Post = Cold water rinse, Alum revealed some stinging, CWR, Thayers, Proraso Rinfrescante, Proraso Cypress and Vetyver cologne
Scent = Guerlain Pour Homme
Damage = none. The Alum did reveal some areas of exfoliation due to excess buffing needed

Score = 9/10 for results. 8/10 for enjoyment

Comments = 24 hour shave even tho’ I am better off waiting till 48 hours. Dug out a new soap today, about time I work my way through some of the ones haven’t tried yet. On opening this, the scent reminded me a bit of Cella or burnt almond, with a woody element, and the same scent in most of my Sterling soaps. However on lathering this the scent was more heavily synthetic in nature, sort of like Carefour supermarket plasticky overtones. Not too pleasant. Rather surprising for an “Italian” product. I will leave the tub open for while and see if this dissipates. But it lathered really well. Flattened one scoop into the bowl, 2 cc of water, then added another 4cc and more. Way too much lather but it showed no hint of drying out and performed well. A utilitarian rather than luxurious soap.

Great shave Chris. I have used Razorock soaps in the past, and they do have a synthetic fragrance, but they provide a slick, creamy lather. I will make this one caveat and that is I used their least expensive soaps. I would hope their more expensive selections would have better scent quality.

I went with my Dovo Best Quality straight today. In four yrs time, I have only shaved with it 23 times. Clearly, it's not one of my top favorite straights, but it still provides a good shave. I also picked out the Shave Den Orange Lanolin Soap. It provides a nice slick lather, but I have to work it to get to my standards.

Did 3 passes for a smooth, comfortable and error-free shave. The alum was silent. Aplication of the witch hazel and then the matching aftershave finished this session. I think that I will do a Dovo shavette shave for tomorrow evening. I probably will go for the Cella or the Limoncello. Sorry, I can't download pics because I am uploading yesterday's shave to YouTube. My phone's ability to do both is impossible. Take care.

Early morning face & head shave.

After the wonderful shave using the Chinese cologne soap in my previous shave I have went for the Blue's goat milk soap another Chinese made soap that I used a lot when I first started out, however, I can't remember the last time that I added it to my soap rotation the soap creates an excellent lather and like the shave Chinese cologne soap, it leaves an excellent post shave feel.

An enjoyable close face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of P&G Old Spice Hawkridge ASL.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.
