  1. Congrats on your maiden shave with the King C Gillette Barry. I am not surprised that it gave you a good shave.

  3. Thanks Joe. The King C Gillette has left a good impression, its performing characteristics remind me of the Muhle R89/ Merkur 34C + 37C/39C slant bars combined together, which are all some of my favourite DE razors. It also which suits my eclectic taste in shaving assortments & SOTD set ups.:D

  4. Thank you Joe...We are having heavy rain at the moment on this side of the pond, but it's expected at this time of the year living near the Sea on the North-East coast, apart from that, everything is "cushty", as they say in my neck of the woods.

  6. My shave this morning was an adventure, that's a fact. The bathroom lights couldn't come on, due to a "gizmo" that is connected to the switch, that somehow went off. A push of a screwdriver solved the problem . Does anyone know what I'm talkinabout? Man, I hope so. But this happened AFTER the shave. I had a flashlight and the hall lights to help me see things while showering and shaving. All things considered I had a great shave :). The Stoylin brush appeared to have a good amount of the Razorock soap(American Barber). 2 passes. No cuts, one Knick, no Polkas. A healthy splash of Clubman for the close. I'm so glad the screwdriver got the gizmo to work so the lights could go back on. Super Duper Outstanding.

    Good afternoon.

Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (5,6)
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
TSD Irish Spring SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 28 hrs
    Dome Turf: 3 days

It's that time for a head and face shave so I brought out the VdH razor. I chose The Shave Den Irish Spring Soap set because I want to use my 3 sets of this brand up. It performs well, but I want a stronger scent from soaps. Here's my lather:

    20231207_152135.jpg

Did 3 passes on the dome with pickups and 3 passes without pickups on the face. Everything went well. I am smooth all around. Slight feedback on the back of the neck and that was it. Splashed on witch hazel and aftershave to end this session. Take care.

SRS # 1007 - “The Edmund Fitzgerald of Brocha”

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Wade & Butcher 5/8 French Point
Brush: Shore Shave Blue Nebula w/ Paragon 25 mm Boar
Lather: Old Cahaba Shave Club Brocha
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Brocha
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Fantastic final shave with the Brocha. Three passes with the W & B straight easily left my face feeling ultra smooth. One mirror weep due to a developing pimple on the right chin. Nothing the alum and witch hazel could not handle.

The shaves for the next week and a half, starting on Sunday, will feature soaps from the Southern den. The beginning of January will feature the return of the 1508.5 Project with the soap up next to meet the Edmund Fitzgerald to be determined.

To date, I have completed 4 tubs and 5 samples this year. I will most likely close out one or two more samples before the year is done.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
