  3. From lanai's back to shaving-I closed out the Chiseled Face Sherlock duo(for now)and it was nice. One cut at the southeast corner of S. Porcupine Alley. Not a bad cut, but noticeable(well, course they ALL are that). Fine work everywhere else. 2 passes. No Knicks, Polka-dots(alongside the cut). I have almost as many shave products in my BEDROOM "den" than in the bathroom den. Just got to keep working with them, so I can send one the way of Edmund Fitgerald. Most Outstanding for the shave.

  9. Gary, you must be used to cold weather, asking Doc Ezlovan to add menthol to your Mtn. Man.

  11. Lovely Menthol Monday shave Gary! As always….

    Enjoy the day!
  12. I shaved with the Feather DX because it has been a while. I nicked myself along my jawline in a couple places but, passable shave. Not as close as I get with my other razors.

Feather DX with a Feather ProGuard blade (2)
Bay Rum whisked in my bowl with my Satin Tip synthetic brush. Soft.
    Pre-shave was Proraso White
Post-shave - Thayers Toner "Lavender" and Captain's Choice "Land Ho" balm
Pinaud Clubman "Virgin Island Bay Rum"

The bay rum soap is nice and slippery. The first pass was error free. I nicked on the upstroke on the second pass tho....

    Theo watched and laughed...

  14. Nice shave Hogie. I am sure you have heard it before, but to achieve proficiency, one needs 100 consecutive shaves with a straight or a shavette. I am suggesting you do a monthly focus on using your shavette and do it every other month. On the off months, you can shave with anything you want. Of course, the ideal method is to shave with your shavette for 3 months straight, but I understand the boredom factor will loom. That's why I suggested doing a 30 day focus every other month. With any razor, getting cuts, nicks, etc. is usually due to faulty technique. I am glad that you picked up your shavette and I hope you will use it more frequently so you can get better at shaving with it. Take care.

Did a quick 3 pass shave this afternoon. I had a nice, comfortable shave. I wasn't going for BBS so I would rate it as a DFS. I just wanted to see how quickly I can shave with my Dovo without errors. The result was no bloodshed in just about 11 min. I think that was my quickest shavette shave ever. Lol! Anyway, here's my lather:

There was some alum feedback, however, I wasn't wincing. Finished with the witch hazel and the aftershave. I am happy with it. Take care.
  19. Thanks, gents. I am happy with the T2 so far. Good solid heavy razor, excellent finish, blade fits squarely and evenly, smoothly operating butterfly mechanism, slick adjustment dial. I think Rockwell has a winner here.

  20. Hi guys. Ok, I folded. I wasn't planning on buying any more shave items Ordered, except replacing drugstore aftershaves like Old Spice, etc. However, I relented because Pasteur's Pharmacy is having a 15% discount on orders over 50 dollars that ends this evening @11:59 Eastern Time. So, I decided to give myself a Christmas present. I picked out the Captain's Choice 45th parallel bundle because it has the cherry/almond scent and it will replace my Cella. I always wanted to try Barbus because I heard it was an excellent shave cream/soap so I bought it. With these 3 items, I went a tad over 50 sollars to get the discount. Also, it was free shipping so it was a win-win for me. Also, as of January 1, 2024, Pasteur's Pharmacy will only have free shipping on orders 35 dollars and above.

    Anyway, here is my order:
