I think I'm going to order one. I used boars exclusively for a lot of years. I have 4 badgers that I made and one Omega Pro. The 2 bands are my favorites among the badger and I have no complaints with the Pro. Truth be told, I've heard so many positive comments about the Semogue, I just want to give one a whirl and see for myself what the buzz is about. Excuse me, while I go place an order.
I really enjoy the 620 I recently acquired. It's starting to open up nicely, and provides a nice scrub to the face. Its starting to open up nicely. I'm playing with the idea now of getting an 830.
I'm using the 830 here in a few minutes once it's had it's PreShave soak. The La Famiglia soap doesn't stand a chance.
A good brush....when you decide to get a second one....the 1250 would be a good choice. I love mine. I have in the region of 12 semogues and I keep going back to the 1250. I cant understand why it is not mentioned more often.
Just a few days ago, I have pulled the trigger as well on a Semogue. Having gone through various badger brushes, I eventually ended up with synthetic brushes, with my favourites being the Silver Tip Fibres of Muehle. But for whatever reason, thoughts aboyt Boar brushes have been nagging me for several months now. After some research on the topic which included great advice from some people and mostly guided by what I find pleasing to my own eye, I have settled (as my first Boar brush - yes, something tells me there will shall be more than just 1 ) on the 1305. I just like the looks of it and the loads of positive feedback I received (and yes, I am aware of the handle issues of a year back or so, with chipped paint, cracked wood etc.) And there I was thinking I would only stick with synthetics from now on. Boy, was I wrong. I am so looking forward to that brush.
Something about boars that are just comfortable, kind of like an old pair of shoes. I've been doing a lot of playing around with badgers (last couple of years) but I've shaved for years with boars and honestly, they're hard to beat. Jeff, you can always pimp them if you have a handle problem or if you get a "wild hare". Can you tell I grew up in the 60's? upload pictures photo upload
