  10. Good morning! Working my bowl lathering still. Spent quite a bit of time loading the brush then working the lather in the bowl. Resulting lather was slick and shiny and provided great cushion and glide.

    Prep: Shower and face wash
    Lather: Arko
    Brush: RR Plissoft
    Razor: Gillette Toggle (4)
    Blade: Astra (1)
Post: Cool rinse and Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Off to face another day. Hope my sleep schedule gets back to normal soon. In bed and asleep by 6 and work up at 3:30 a.m. Tonight I'm shooting for a 9 pm bedtime!

Today’s shave with the Perma Sharp was very similar to the Wilkinson Sword shaves. Good, but not breaking into the top four good…

This blade is a bit sharper than the WS, but not as smooth. It resulted in another mostly DFS shave with a bit of borderline BBS here and there. Like with the WS blade, I had to work harder to get not quite as nice of a shave as I am used to. .

Since I got effectively the same result with less of a smooth shave, I’m putting this blade below the WS in my ratings.

    BTW- I’m aware that I could push any of these blades to BBS with a third pass, but am electing not to for the following reasons;

1- I want to keep the testing consistent.
2- I can get BBS in two passes with several blades, so ones that require three passes have already disqualified themselves for me

I will stick to my focus and use this blade one more time.

    Current standings, round four:

    1- Personna Lab Blue
    2- Feather
    3- Kai
    4- Gillette Silver/Blue
    5- Wilkinson Sword
    6- Gillette Perma Sharp
  12. Fabulous shaves everyone! I’m still in pre Christmas insanity zone. Long hours, kids sports and building presents in the garage.

  13. Good going Troy especially since you are jet lagged. I used to like thick lather. These days I like it shiny, with precarious peaks just holding on for dear life, just short of dripping.

    Working that Toggle I see

  14. Nice going Scott, you can't go far wrong with Arko and the humble Omega boar

I need to get back to face lathering again one day soon and see if I can get that to work for me too.

  19. Awesome Arko shave Troy! That's great that your bowl lathering is improving. Enjoy your day.
  20. Awesome Arko shave and setup Scott. Like I mentioned earlier, the Gillette Perma Sharp was good for me, but it was not as smooth as other blades. Looking back, I rate it above the Astra Blues and just below the unbranded Wilkinson Sword blades. Enjoy your day.
