The recent talk about adjustable razors got me thinking about them in general. Assuming new, or recent production, what are the better Adjustable razors today? Why are they better than other options? Where are the "sweet spots" in terms of price, and quality and value? I'm initially thinking of the Rockwell T2 Adjustable and the Yaqi TFC. I am probably missing options from Pearl and brands I don't run into very often that are top contenders for good quality and performance at modest prices as well. Does anyone care to comment on differences in their shave experiences with the non-Gillette Adjustable options? TIA, Sid
I have two: The Parker Variant and Pearl Flexi (both are the "closed comb" type). Both are fine tools. The Variant is a copy of the Merkur Progress design, except it has a knurled handle (which I prefer). Parker also has an open comb version of this razor (whereas there's no open comb version of the Progress that I'm aware of). The Flexi is a copy of the Rex Ambassador, both of which (as I understand it) are copies of the vintage Gibbs adjustable razor. Both are fine razors in my opinion and shave better (for me) than vintage Gillettes.
I made a wheel of adjustables shot after I recently acquired a LeCoq Licence Palmer. Somehow I forgot the Gibs 15 and L'Essor Le Supreme. By far the L'Essor is simply supreme ; ) . It is not inexpensive and rare, but doesn't mean one can't stumble into one. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
