I am meeting some friends at a restaurant this afternoon so I picked this setup to smell and look my best. I was going to use the Stirling Spice, but the Tsuka is more exotic. It's a shame that Rod doesn't have it all year round. I wish he would make it in the 6 oz tubs and also have the splash placed in the 100 ml bottles.
Oh well, here's my lather:


Did 3 passes on my face and dome for a BBS and error-free shave. The Mühle R102 took down my 3 day growth in 2 passes, but I did a third to get a BBS just in case one of the ladies at the restaurant wants to feel the dome. Fat chance that is happening. Lol!
The Parker shavette eased through my 40 hr stubble in 2 passes, but did a 3rd pass anyway.
There wasn't any alum feedback on my face and neck, but it was minimal on my dome. So, I was happy about it. Splashed on the witch hazel and that glorious matching aftershave. Did a couple of spritzes of the EdT to end this session. I must say this was the best shave I could have experienced for Christmas. Again, I wish you all a Merry Christmas! Be safe and take care.

I am applying my 30DC skills to 3017 (knock out) a few items in my den. I'm currently working through a puck of Mike's Hungarian Lavender soap, my stash of Astra SP blades, a bottle of Fine L'Orange Noir aftersahve, and a bottle of Stetson cologne. I recently dropped and broke a favorite shave mug, and our very our @Primotenore surprised with a super cool Aesop bowl. I'm over the moon with it.

Fine Christmas shave.(Pun intended). I saw in a video yesterday that Fine's Knize 10 has the strongest leather scent than any other leathers "in the history of perfumes"(not my quote). Interestingly the same video man said it is best worn if the wearer only likes it-that it shouldn't be worn if you're among others. Thanks a lot, buddeh-you know I'll be among others later today. Strange commentary in a video, but it still doesn't beat the kid doing Williams soap and halfway through the video saying "I really don't like this soap!". Anyway, back to the shave: The "duffnut" at the botttom of the jar is getting a little larger-good sign. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Solid work most everywhere except I'd have liked to get more done around the Ingrowns. I've already announced this area as a January focus. Super Duper Outstanding. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Hello again. I took up DE shaving ten years ago and since then have acquired more razors than I'll ever need. I took yesterday and today to go through the bathroom cabinets and I must say I'm a little overwhelmed at just how much I went down the rabbit hole buying vintage Gillettes as well as other modern razors like the Feather ASD2 and a couple of Merkurs. I'm sixty-three years old now and I'd like to purge most of this stuff and just get down to one basic type/model of DE that will do the trick and just keep three or four versions of that at the most. The thing is, I've used SuperSpeeds, Long and Short Comb NEWS, Old Types and both types of the basic Techs (triangle slot and the later oblong slotted versions) and I've had good results with most of them. My plan for January 2024 is to 30DC the lowly post war ball-end Tech. I have the typical variants of the Tech razor, both ball-end and fat handles, and pre and post war heads as well as the "Canadian 1932 Pat. stamp" version that is reputed to be slightly more effective. So I figure if I can achieve BBS with the post-war variant (and I believe I can) then I no longer see a need to have drawers full of razors and I think it would be a relief to me to be rid of them. A few Tech heads and a couple of handles will be fine and give me some variety. Wish me luck and I'll report my progress after each shave.
