Received my Daveso Garanti in the mail yesterday and it's looks like it walked off the manufacturing line yesterday. Beautiful. It's a, I assume, relatively early version of a dual-comb DE razor. How early I don't actually know as finding information about this razor. I think it's German but even that I'm not 100% sure on. I do know that the brand also came out with a full OC head with a similar looking handle. If anyone know anything at all about this brand I'd love to learn more. There were other dual-combs out around the 1930-1940's like this one from Solingen in Germany: Some pics of my razor: It's a traditional three-piece design and here you can see the dual-comb a bit: A shot from the top of it: For fun here's a couple of photos comparing the head to the Wolfman dual-comb head:
Tried out the Daveso this morning for the first time and had a great - and rather interesting shave. I normally, for whatever incorrect reason I've decided to stick to, view OC heads as more aggressive than closed combs - this razor really challenges that notion. I went through my normal two-pass shave (WTG and ATG) and alternated the head sides for each half of the face. The closed comb/safety bar side was very audible and rather aggressive. I really did feel as if I had to think of what I was doing. No cuts though. The open comb side was extremely comfortable. Less audible and I felt less worried about accidentally cutting myself. Both sides of the head delivered a stellar shave in the end and after my two passes I was as clean shaven as with the best of my razors. A fantastic design I wish could be carried into a modern offering. I'll try it out another couple of times but I get a very strong sense of that this will be one of the razors I'll hang on to.
This is my Daveso Garanti OC razor. It is an Open Comb mid-aggressive safety razor. P13 Blue MaxL 2022 cihazımdan Tapatalk kullanılarak gönderildi
