  4. The blade I use is not recommended, to aggressive, so it's noted.
    I have the v1 and v2.
The v2 is a great razor, I like it very much, but the OC V3 is my favorite.
    Good luck.

  6. Well, where's my SAME AS YESTERDAY rubber stamp? Fine shave all over. The one glitch preventing me from the #1 grade was the Knick at North Porcupine(just below the nose). I love the Pages soap, but the aftershave of the same name, while performing its duty nicely, smells a bit different than the soap. More like medicine. Aaah, it's OK I guess. 2 passes. The owner of Hub City Soaps wants to compete with the best of 'em, and he is on the right track to do so, I believe. I'd just like to see him improve the scent of his Pages, aftershave. Super Duper Outstanding.
  7. thank you Joe.it's a fine shaver

  13. Final Shave of 2023

    Good afternoon.

    Rockwell Model T1 (4,5)
Dorco ST 300 DE Blade (1,2)
    JR #386 Silvertip Badger Brush
    Tabac SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 22.5 hrs
    Dome Turf: 3 days

    20231230_210346.jpg

I wanted to end 2023 with a head and face shave. I decided to make it an easy one by using the Rockwell T1 and the Tabac shave stick to face and dome lather. It's also the first time that I have used the Dorco ST 300 Platinum coated blades.

I did 2.5 passes on my face and 3 passes on my dome for an error-free BBS result. I have to say that the Dorco blade was not as sharp as any blade that I have used because I originally had the razor at setting 4, but after the first pass on my face, I had to go to setting 5 to complete the face shave and continue on the headshave shave. Also, I had to do more buffing than usual on all my areas.
The alum was singing all over my face, neck and dome. I attribute it to the amount of buffing needed to get the result I wanted. I come to the conclusion that I would have to use the Dorco blades in all my adjustables at high settings and the Mühle R102. My milder razors loaded with this razor wouldn't cut it for me. Lol! Finished with the witch hazel and the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. Boy, did I get an alcohol burn! Have A Happy New Year!

    Shavette Shave # 218

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: The Holy Black
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
    Lather: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Aftershave: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Final shave of 2023. I went with the reliable lathering ability of the PAA soap. The Ever Ready 200T, my father’s brush that I swiped from him in the ‘70s and reknotted about 6 years ago, whipped sip a nice and slick lather.

Three passes with the shavette cleaned my face up to ultra smoothness. I am smelling and looking good.
