Vintage razors that use proprietary blades

Numerous of those are not commonly owned and may not have many folks interested in coming up with a blade. There are some however which would be different. The Wardonia razors out of Britain - there are quite a few of these around and they used a what they called a barrel slot design. You can fidget with a modern blade using a hole punch and make them work. Slow, but doable. The Christy the OP mentioned - there are lots of those still around, and they are a long slim wonderful razor in the hand. Have never shaved with one and would love to. The Ronson, a very cool razor, lots were treasured and kept bc they were so well made. A blade for a Ronson would be great. And, the Durham Duplex - a shavette style and a hoe style that both used the same blade. There are lots of these around, but no blades and no mods work. They would be a lot of fun to reuse.

I will see what blades I might have kicking around and get back.

The Christy, Durham Duplex, Segal and Dehaven blades would be a fun project. I don’t own, or collect vintage razors, but enjoy the process of making a few blades for those in need

Maybe it's just me, but why get into a razor that only takes blades that are no longer made and hard to get?

    Fair enuff.
I'll stick to the 99.99% of vintage razors that take unmodified blades that are still in production today.

Wouldn't those who shaved in 1935 be amazed at the quality of shave that we're receiving today? For myself the 1930's era razors both closed and open comb are the epitome of shaving standards? Now mind you, I'm not comparing the straight razors.

    Yup.

Did the common man cry out for carts, or was it forced down their throats by Gillette circa 1971?

I've never tried a straight razor. Not sure I want to explore that rabbit hole.

Come over to "The Dark Side", of shaving. Young Padawan.
Best shaves to be had are with a Straight Razor.

Personally, I get my best shaves from my DEs and SEs. I get decent straight razor shaves, bloodless events they are, but not as close. It may be because I only use my straight razors on Saturdays when I can take my time and really focus.
@ShaversRUs I approached it this way - I figured if my ancestors were able to use a straight razor, I could. I tried 'em because of the cool factor. Have I cut myself? Sure, but nothing serious.
