Injector and SE Shaves

SE SOTD, Friday, January 5th,2024

Razor : Yaqi SE Romulus 316SSP + Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP(Darwin looking)handle- Mfg 2023>, mild range. Excellent machining & polished finish QC. Small head parts makes it easier to assemble on a wash cloth is what I have found. The razor is on of my favorites for being nimble and results are excellent using a Kai SS Titian mild I have been using. My shave this morning was stellar close and comfortable. (Yesterday was another stellar close shave and the Romulus + Kai Titian mild performed excellent for snipping short stubble IMO.)
Blade : Kai Captain Titian SS Mild (5) sharp and smoooth with reasonable longevity. Top tier AC blade in my den!
Soap : Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore nice vanilla + light tobacco scented with excellent lather qualities. Good post- shave feel when done the shave IMO.
Brush : Yaqi " Ever helpful" 22 mm 2 band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, firmer splay scrubber, great lather painter. Designed with a short dense loft for those folks who enjoy the scrub when lathering, I tend to paint more with this brush and it has a nice face feel as a great 2band badger should.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock M.F splash(I like this splash with the soap compo) with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SSP with a Kai Captain Titian mild. Great combination of Razor and blade.

The Mitchel's Wool Fat lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1902 Kampfe Brothers/Star Lather Catcher Razor and a Star Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Pinaud Lilac Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Sunday shave, January 7 2024.


Razor : Yaqi Excalibur AC 50mm- Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range. Simple clamping system, small head parts I like to work on a wash cloth for assembly and dismantling. This little razor works well and I receive excellent shaves 95%> of the time.
Blade : Schick proline p30(6) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer rapier, nice fragranced soap(Aramis classic cologne) with excellent lather qualities. Master soap creations S.A was commissioned to make their soap and aftershave line.
Brush : Yaqi "Mountain lake) 24mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Great over all badger brush for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Musketeer rapier splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.

Razor : Gem G bar, Mfg 1955-58- mild to tame mid range. Well built with excellent chrome finish, built to last with some care for Generations. First Gem razor I owned and never looked back, it just works and with a fresh Gem PTFE blade it can still keep up with any razor made IMO when you dial one of these beautiful razors in. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (7) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda, nice mild bright lavender with a touch of mint possibly + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Moka express" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, Gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda cologne mild AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).

Great shave with this Star Bar razor this morning. I've wanted one for quite a while. So when I saw this one pop up with a really low starting bid I figured I'd throw a slightly higher bid on and see what happened. No one else bid and I got it cheap. I did quite a bit of scrubbing and sanitizing on this one. It looks like it's been a bit neglected. I wonder where and for how long it sat unused.
