  1. Thanks, gents. Probably won't shave today; likely tomorrow instead.

I don't want to be freshly cleanshaven right now -- I am about to go out and shovel away 10cm (4") or so of snow. It's - 20C out with a 25kmh wind, so every bit of extra skin coverage helps...

    DE Shave # 509

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Yaqi Adjustable
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Jayaruh 382 “Civil War” Boar
Pre-Shave: Pears Soap - Mint Extract
    Lather: Proraso White
    Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Revenant
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
    Nivea Sensitive Balm

Wonderful shave this morning with the same set up Monday except I switch out the Suneko blade for a new GSB. I would have to say that with this razor both blades delivered an exceptionally close shave. Hard to give the nod to which is the better performer as it is that close.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

I haven't used Stirling Spice SS in awhile so I needed to break it out. Every positive thing has been said about Stirling Soaps. It just flat out works every time. It's one of the easiest lathers to make and therefore, it would be perfect for a newbie. Here's my lather:

    20240110_155243.jpg

Honestly, yesterday's shave was so close that I didn't need to shave today, but I just like to shave every day. I really only needed 1 pass, but this scent is so divine that I did my usual 3. I got an error-free BBS shave, once again.
The alum feedback was very slight. In fact, I got more of a burn with the matching aftershave. It's to be expected because of the scents used to make this soap. Yes, I did splash on the witch hazel prior to the aftershave. Take care.
