Hello there....I decided to join TSD due to the reply from @jgreenepa yesterday to my SOTD posting over on B&B telling me about the TSD 30DC thread, “technique trumps tools” posting , which i totally agree, after reading the posting i thought it would be a good shaving forum to join and learn from.

The wonderful thing about traditional wet shaving for me is that there are so many good products out there and there literally is something for just about everyone..I don't scorn people who don't use a DE razor, or people who use budget SOTD set ups. Each to their own. The vast majority of my shave set ups are very inexpensive, but they work for me..“technique trumps tools” unless you from time to time get a dull blade, but technique & shaving confidence is thew key to comfortable error free shaves.
Last be not least it's hard to believe that i'm now a member of four traditional wet shaving forums..As four year ago shaving was a mundane task that i despised with a 'FULL ON' passion. Now i look forward to my traditional wet shaving hobby/ passion.

    Regards. B. ;)

    Queen of Blades,
Thank You for the welcome. I am only a student of wet shave products. I have wet shaved all my life. I did survive dry shaving for some months during a visit to Iraq. This is the only Forum I have joined. I am guilty of collecting DE's and SE's. The research is fun for me. I seem to be constantly in the effort of properly identifying some razor in my collection. I have also sold a razor on occasion. Trying to pinpoint a year date of production for one particular Gillette DE that I have, caused me to joint your group. Again, thank you for the kindness.

Hi, I forgot to do a welcome to the Shave Den thing in late August when I joined.

Oh, have used a DE Safe-T-Shaver since about late September 2017.

I started with a Micro Touch One in late 2017 that was a Pre Rick Harris endorsed model due to how beat up the packaging was that I used as my only DE Safe-T-Shaver until March 2025 when my one locked up due to overtightening where only throwing the shaver on the ground worked. I then got an adjustable shaver having looked since 2024 when the Micro Touch One was getting but finally decided I had to go used getting a Gillette H 2 or 1962 (slim handle era) with no case I started using April 1 2025 when the shaver came in and in July after finding I liked the model, for backup a can't tell the production year of J, L, or I in 1 with original case that has 2 burn marks one from me. To hold the Micro Touch One better then lightly getting rid of some plastic on the Gillette Adjustable case to barely fit the Micro Touch One in with the backup Gillette I recently in late September 2025 got in a cheap case that housed a plastic butterfly shaver from AliExpress that was number 2 HDPE plastic where I will use the case and Micro Touch One if flying but use the case for other travel with my Gillette Adjustable 1960's slim handle era.

I prefer Personna made in USA 100 pack as my avatar shows having some late 2017 model that currently last 35--40, some Personna made in USA 100 pack 2024--2025 (early 2025) no logo era that last 30--35 shaves ones but I also have a bunch of King C Gillette 6--7 original and a about 20 of the lesser later models where both of these last 25--30 shavers usually as well as recently FEIU blades that for about 5--6 shaves for the single blade I tested. Of the models I can buy now the Personna made in USA 100 pack 2024--2025 is my favorite as they match the orginal 2020 King C Gillette that are very hard to find even from the original Gillette Factory in Brazil.

I have never really used shave cream, shave soaps, or shave gel because I tend to cut myself otherwise but have used soap like foaming hand pump or in the shower as an experiment, conditioner, or currently a homemade concoction in a hotel squeeze tube of lotion a little water, and soap/conditioner if I skipped more than just 1 day or I feel I need to use for shaving after skipping 1 day, but rarely use if shaving every day.
