Jeff, I agree with your assessment. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with the overall shave and at $15 for 6oz of soap is a bargain.

Early morning shave,

An invigorating early morning cold water face & head shave using an eclectic shaving set up to finishing off my last shave of January 2024 superbly.

The Statum Platinum Chrome have been a wonderful blade over the last few weeks paired together with the Parker 55SL.

I'll return to the Personna Comfort Coated Lab Blue on Thursday for my first shave of February 2024 paired together with the FaTip Grande of which I'll be using along with my Merkur 37C for whole of February.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine.

This Shark Dive soap from Bundubeard in Pretoria, South Africa has a very nice scent which at the beginning I wasn’t too crazy about but it really grew on me. This soap is glycerine based, it gives super duper lather with plenty of slickness as well as a very comfortable postshave feeling - to my dear brother Jaco who owns Bundubeard let me say hierdie seep is so lekker, my boet! The Aloe Vesta moisturizer gave me lots of gentle soothing, and the Aqua Velva Musk aftershave smells so nice, not to mention how good it feels. Another dynamite three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed from start to finish!

Razor : Yaqi 2nd Generation Mellon head 316SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle- Mfg 2023>, mid range>. Excellent machining and finish QC. With the Chippendale handle it is a nice razor to use with a little blade feel. The audio feed back is great if a person enjoys this. The top cap and safety bar trap water and regenerate the lather was the original thought back in the 1940's (self lubricating). Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning even after a close shave yesterday!
Blade : Perma-Sharp(2) sharp and smooth with good longevity. Top tier blade in my Den space.
Soap : Razorock XXX, nice unique clean scented with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Black marble" 24mm 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury soft pillow tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Great handle for a silvertip that has a large bloomed knot, works the face well and very enjoyable to use.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon 316 SSP with a Gillette Perma-sharp blade.

Here my belated Sunday Shave (28.01.2024)


Pre: Aloe Vera Gel // Razor: Supply V1 // Blade: Personna Injector // Soap: Eufros Brisa de Oriente // Brush: RazoRock 400 //Aftershave: Floid The Genuine // Post: Aloe Vera Gel

Good shave. Aloe Vera Gel is great as a Preshave. Softens the whiskers more than my other Preshaves (for my liking). The rest was extremely good. Love the Floid Aftershave with it´s fresh but powdery scent.

The razor is a loan from a friendly member here in Germany. It seemed not to be aggressive at all but at the end of my shave i had 3 bloodspots. Nothing that cold water couldn ´t repair.

All in all an 8 out of 10
