So I went and got myself way behind. But unlike a certain other thread, catching up here is doable. And today I have nothing but time. Last I was here, I was working on the Mike's vetiver. I finished that off a couple weeks ago now. I haven't settled on another to kill off yet. Just picking whatever strikes my fancy. Congratulations @Keithmax on the retirement!
Tuesday, January 30 Ethos Bay Rum~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic~~Leresche #51/Wilkinson Chromium~~Diptyque Oud Palao I had hoped to have finished the Ethos before February, but alas and alack...'tis not to be. Good success on the neck with the French DE, but got a weeper on the right cheek... The Diptyque is a glorious rose/oud (GENUINE oud, btw) stank.
Day 18 January 30th Karve ‘D’ w Polsilver (2) APShaveCo Silvertip / MrEE LE #007 Fine Platinum Classic SS Thayers Myrsol F extra I sound like a broken record…another outstanding shave with a great lather wiped away by a fave razor. Probably my favourite modern razor. Have a great night all!
My judge of a razor has changed over the years. Everything (virtually everything) delivers a perfect shave after 3 passes for me. Many do it quite smoothly. Some deliver near perfection after 2 passes. A select few do it without feeling like danger is imminent. The Karve is in that group for me.
congratulations on finishing the Mike’s. I agree this thread is easier to keep up with so it’s where I participate.
Closing out the month of January with Tabac. Wednesday January 31, 2024 Brush: Simpson Lather: Tabac Razor: Henson Blade: Feather Post: Tabac
I won't argue that point! As much as I love Tabac, I've decided that February will be freestyle. I have several soaps that need my attention. Up first will be MdC Rose. Paul
January 31, 2024 Henson Tatra Shavemac D01 2 Band Flat Top LEA Classic Shave Soap and Aftershave Happy Wednesday. I thought I was feeling better yesterday but it turned out to be the same or worse. Long story short is I ended up in the ER with chest pains and shortness of breath. After countless tests I was finally able to go home in the early morning hours. I do have a followup with the cardiologist tomorrow morning. This is the second such episode in the last year. I do wish they could find out what's going on. At least I was able to get a great shave a few minutes ago which seemed to make the world better. Back to following the doctors orders and get some rest. Swati is working from home while making sure that I follow the rules. Take care and have a great day.
