    A beauty of a shave today. Great job at the loading dock with the brush. Clean and clear all overm especially that area at North Porcupine that has been driving me crazy lately(right side). Boy, that Fine Latigo soap is working its way to the bottom, but I hope there will be some left by next fall and winter. Two passes. Zero across the board with cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Nice work with the Latigo A,S, which has always been the case. As Outstanding As It
    Gets

    Good afternoon.

    Gillette RedTip
    Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (3)
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush
    Cella SS
    Stirling Frankincense and Myrrh AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 22 hrs

    I has such a close shave yesterday that I really didn't need to shave, but I like shaving so I picked my Gillette RedTip.
    I know before next week is over that my Cella soap will meet the same fate.
    Did a 3 passer without any drama for a BBS shave. Had some alum feedback on my neck, but nothing outrageous. Finished with the witch hazel and the Stirling Frankincense and Myrrh aftershave. It was a nice session. Take care.

    Wonderful shave Gary. Does using the scuttle make your shave more enjoyable?

    i really enjoyed using the scuttle.adds character to an already nice shave.it will be in the rotation like everything else,won't get used every shave but sunday shaves maybe,:):eatdrink047:i like that it is from one of my favorite razor eras,late 30's to late 40's..:)

    Flexible, Favourite, Feather, Fatip, Fine, Felce, whatever grabs my Fancy

    Growth = 1 day. Today I fancied some Bay Rum

    12 Feb 2024.jpg

    Prep = brief tap water rinse
    Preshave = bloom water from the soap
    Soap / Cream = Colonel Conk Bay Rum
    Brush = Omega 10049
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Merkur 37C
    Blade = Derby Premium (1)
    Passes = enough
    Post = Usual tap water rinse, Alum was super silent, tap water rinse, Thayers
    ASL = Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
    Damage = none

    Score = 9 / 10. Close enough for a work from home day
    Enjoyment factor = hmm maybe an 7 or 8. Not the slickest soap

    Comments = Loaded the soap with a wetter than normal brush. Couldn’t quite get the slickness I needed. I remember this from the last 2 times I used this soap (9 July ’23 and 22 Aug ‘ 23). Not quite the Teflon factor of other soaps. Will need to try a different lathering strategy and maybe go back to my usual preshave setup next time I use this. Notable lack of residue in the basin afterwards compared to the Proraso for example, suggesting something is lacking, or maybe just my lathering strategy. Beautiful scent though

    Have a great start to the week chaps

    Nice going with the Latigo Paul

    Thanks Joe

    Glorious

    Super top-up shave Joe. I felt the same this morning, should I just skip a day, or shave anyway and just go easy. It is fun! Well a ritual we don't like to forego
    Frankincense and Myrrh...sounds interesting

    This morning, I closed out the Fine February Latigo, with the Clubman-Pinaud brush. Even though it's a Clubman, it isn't one of my favorite brushes. Too small with a light-sized knot. Overall good shave, but I did have 2 Knicks one at S.Porcupine, the other at N.W. Cactus, thus they were close to one another. I'm sure I went a little hard in those areas. No problems anywhere else. I'll see if I can do better with that brush next time, or might be time to flip it. Very Outstanding.
