Frrrrrrrrrreeeeezing cold lather from this Gillette cream--a great shave with grandpa's antique razor. However, the next time I use it, I should change the blade.

 

DONT FORGET to change blades regularly Boubi ,the point of all this wetshaving is that we CAN do it on an economical basis why get a mediocre result while all it took was changing the blade and it specially goes for men with very heavy coarse beard hairs . remember your not paying for fusion cartridges .

I bought a Fusion razor 3 months ago to test if there was progress with cartridge razors. what a weird way to shave tugs like hell and there is no feeling in what you do on or to your face.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Shavemac 22mm silvertip (been using this excellent brush for one year straight)
Fatboy/Iridium
DR Harris Marlborough SS (more ordered from Paul)
Lt AS (maybe I look for something different for a change)
Storer 'Monk' EdP (weird and interesting fragrance)

Tried dialing up from my normal #3 to 5 for my 3rd (XTG) pass, and 4th (AGT), in hopes of mopping up a little more effectively. Worked well, as far as closeness goes, but I could feel the blade more than I liked. Hehe, the hell do I do now? It's a trade off between a little closer shave, or one that's not quite as comfortable for 2 passes. Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh!

Anyway, a very nice overall BBS result.

  [*]Result: Excellent BBS shave today. The 7 O'Clock blade is working just wonders with any DE razor I put it in. The Ball End NEW seems to be my favorite DE razor. Nice balance and handle length for me. Of course I go nuts with the Tabac soap and have acquired a liking for the Tabac EDT though it does have a bit different scent.

Prep: OCM in the shower, a minute or two massaging beard area with fingers with warm/hot water running over it.
Brush: Penchetta Penworks 20mm
Soap: Tabac, face lathered
Razor: Newly acquired brass open comb Gem Micromatic
Blade: Gem "by Personna" SE (from Walgreen's) - day 1
A/S: Thayer's Alcohol Free Original Witch Hazel
ASB: TSD AS Milk - 4711 Type

Results: First time with the razor - need to work on technique a bit. A little lingering burn and a nick or two. Excellent, smooth DFS - mostly BBS.
