  4. Awesome setup and shave Barry. It's true that some people are allergic to lanolin. That's why it's important to read labels before purchasing items. I know
that we are all aware of this fact, but it's a great reminder to act on it.

  5. Wonderful shave and post Chris. Btw, I will take that type of boredom any day of the week. Ok, let me take it back. If it was 30°C ( 86°F), then I wouldn't be bored. Lol!

  8. February 20 Tabac Tuesday SOTA

    Good afternoon.

Assured for Men/ Dollar Tree DE Razor
Assured for Men DE Blade (4)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    Tabac SK
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 22 hrs

    20240220_162249.jpg

I am going to a fragrance free venue and I went with this setup. I like Tabac shave stick because it's easy to apply and to make a nice, slick lather. I also like the scent, but it doesn't stay around too long.
I realize that this razor was under $1.50, but it does give a great shave. I will say that the proprietary blade is not as smooth as most other blades, but it does the job. I think the next shave with this blade will be my last one.
I would say this would be a frugal February shave. I got a BBS incident free on 3 passes.
The alum was silent. Splashed on the witch hazel and the Aqua Velva Ice Blue aftershave. Didn't get any alcohol burn so that's always a good thing. Take care.

Flexible, Favourite, Feather, Fatip, Fine, Felce, whatever grabs my Fancy

    1 day

Repeat of the 19th with 2nd use of the Permasharp

It definitely felt smoother and safer than the Feather (1) of yesterday. I might take this to Day 3 which is not normally my usual habit

Got the Oud more slick than the previous two days: around 0.4 of a scoop with 6 cc of water is an ideal ratio: When the razor doesn’t get clogged and is easy to rinse it’s about right, this applies to any soap

No damage, delightfully easy 2 passes with touch ups for a super smooth start to a busy Wednesday

Could have stopped after 1 pass but I like to get as clean as I can with no damage

Still enjoying the Oud and Whiskey Woods combo later on in the day

    Have a great day chaps
  15. Lovely close up of a cool looking razor Danny!

Cool pic and setup Gary, neat looking HD by the way

Lovely post Joe. you have given me more ideas for Febuary: Fragrance free Feb Frugal Feb Face Lather Feb Lol!
  16. thank you Chris.this HD has highly polished doors much like the aristocrats and #58 models.even my near NOS ones are far less shiny and rougher finished.it isn't a replate so i suspect it to be from an early #59 set,maybe?..:):eatdrink047:

  17. Nice shave this morning-No negative issues this time, just a clean, fresh, strong shave all around. I certainl;y wish I knew the name of that large blue synthetic brush I used-really worked its magic both at the loading dock and on my face and neck. 2 passes. Zero across the board on cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Great finidh from the Clubman Special Reserve. Super Duper Outstanding. (Mighta been a better grade were it not for a miss at North Porcupine(right side. Can't take this shaving hobby for granted).

    good morning gents
    a simple midweek shave.
smooth 2 passer with the canadian new sc.
this time i tried it with a gold tech handle.
    nice balance.
unfortunately these many of these fine OC razors came with those ugly old type ball end handles that split,and..
not to mention the cheap common bar handles the others came with.
    i know,it's just shaving..;)
vito's did the job again, nice stuff.
    aqua velva sport to finish
    awesome
    have a fine day everyone.
