Oh my Lord am I ever FROZEN STIFF after this intense menthol bombardment - my dear brother Fernando makes such MAGNIFICENT soaps and aftershaves - let me tell you that his Frosted Lavender is the most gorgeous lavender scent I ever experienced. The soap is tallow based, the lather is absolutely awesome, there’s so much slickness to it, the menthol sensation is killer cold exactly like any of the Stirling Glacials, and the postshave feeling is so relaxed as well as soothed. The Thayer’s Lavender witch hazel hardly has any scent but it also soothes very well, and the Frosted Lavender aftershave is also witch hazel based so it never stings or burns, and the menthol kick it gives is off the friggin charts. Last but not least the magnificent Bleu de Chanel fragrance topped it all off. This Astra Green blade is now retired after two weeks of faithful service - it gave me one last hoorah with a beautiful three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely!

Here my Shave of the Day (06.03.2024)


Razor: Mühle Rocca Birch // Blade: ASCO // Soap: B&M Nocturne // Brush: Shavemac Lotus G5C // Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

I had a great shave again. The Rocca is truly a fantastic razor. Smooth, gentle and very toroughly.

The blade was a good choice but for me there are better blades out there. No problems to get BBS in 2,5 passes so…not that bad.

I love the scent of the soap. So warm and comfy. Generating lather was absolutely no problem. The knot of the brush is amazing. It needs a few shaves to be „broken in“ but than…maaaaaan…holds water and heat, the tips are very soft and velvety smooth with just the right amount of backbone to lather everything what you throw at it. Nice job.

To close out the shave i used Pinaud Clubman with it´s fantastic oldschool scent. Love it.

A 9 out of 10

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with SlimGem 3D Printed Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Astra 501 Safety Razor and a Wilkinson Sword Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SE SOTD, Wednesday, March 6th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Mellon head SSP with a Chippendale 316 SSP handle- Mfg 2023>, mid range. Excellent machining and finish QC that is very hard to Mfg. I really enjoy the audio feedback from this razor(sizzling sound) of whiskers being chopped clean off. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : GSB(3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. Top tier blade in my shave den.
Soap : Proraso green, nice scented soap Eucalyptus with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Aqua" 24mm 3band high mountain silver tip badger. Excellent lather generator, soft pillow like tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Proraso green with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper = Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon head razor with a GSB blade. Had a wonderful shave this morning.
