Razor : Ever-Ready 1914 (AKA=LLC) model with 1st generation blade stops- Mfg 1914-17, mid range. Excellent manufactured razor for that time ERA when stamping parts where the way companies mainly mfg. razors for the mass needs IMO. This razor still functions and looks good many generations later and should still last generations with some care. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (6) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest razor blade to handle.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum, sage and cedar- interesting Bayrum lather to whip up in a bowl I found, good scent with great lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Orbital ring" 24mm boar bristle hair brush. Excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood (some clove)splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever-Ready 1914 razor with a coated Gem blade.

SE Sunday SOTD, March 3rd 2024

Razor : Yaqi SE Excalibur AC type with a Milano 316SSP handle- Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Simple blade clamping system + head parts are small so I like to work on a wash cloth to reduce chances of dropping any parts. This little razor has given me consistent close shaves and enjoyable ones. 1st pass on this razor seems a bit tuggy compared to the Yaqi Romulus SE AC 316 polished version using the Schick proline blades. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick Proline P30 (5) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Mitchell's wool fat, mild clean scented lather with great lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Robin" 24mm boar bristle hair knot. Excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : FINE Fresh Vetiver aftershave with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.

Razor : Yaqi chrome Mercury razor head with a RR UFO handle. Mfg 2022>, mild range. Well designed and built DE razor that I enjoy using some days for a nice change. Very affordable also for folks who are budgeted for inexpensive shaving needs . Had a close comfortable shave this morning
Blade : Gillette Perma-sharp(2) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Martin De Candre original sample, very mild scented hard soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi "Cola" 22mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : witch hazel splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Chrome Mercury razor with a Perma-sharp blade.
