I'm looking to pickup a Type E or G Schick Injector. What to look for so that it's not damaged and usable? Thanks in advance.
I'd say if the head is bent forward or back, definitely stay away. If you see scratches indicating that the spring under the head was rotated, most of them aren't meant to do that. You can ruin the tension on the bottom plate if you bend that spring. Other than that, there's not a whole lot to damage on them and they're pretty sturdy.
One thing I can think of, is do not buy one that does NOT have a used blade in it. It has been many years since I bought or used an injector, but it seems to me that an injector that comes without a used blade in it, (or a factory blank) the first blade you inject into the razor will be so badly damaged, and you shave with it, you will never use it again. Others may come along and agree or disagree, but if you buy a used injector, do your self a favor and put one or maybe two blades through it before shaving with it the first time. Your face will thank you.
