Man oh man do I ever LOVE this Noxzema cream - to me it’s the BEST. The scent is so old school and nice, the lather is sumptuous, the menthol sensation is delightful, and the postshave feeling is so soothing - this cream makes my skin feel like it’s born again. The Prep smells exactly like the Noxzema cream and it’s my number one favourite balm - it’s a godsend for sensitive skin. Finally a couple of generous splashes of the Polar Ice aftershave and I smell like I just stepped out of a 50s barbershop - ahhhh this stuff’s scent is so awesome. I did only two passes but I got a brilliant BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely!

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Bethlehem Olive Wood Silvertip Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Sheraton Razor and a Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickenson's Witch Hazel and Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

ASRazor shave, Tuesday, March 26th 2024

Razor : Gem Damaskenne open comb, Mfg 1912-15, tame mid range. This is the real Mckoy Gem 1912 because it is open comb and has a stropping attachment in the handle. This little razor is over 112 years old approximately and still performs excellent with a fresh Gem SS PTFE blade. I lucked out when I bought this razor years ago in a razor lot sale on line. These where the first models Gem came out with in OC and then went to the closed comb for many years for a total successful product. Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (3) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock "The Dead Sea", very nice unique scented soap with excellent lather qualities. One of my favorites.
Brush : Yaqi " black marble" 24mm 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. I like the handle and always laugh at the size of bloom that occurred after 1st .... cleaning.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock "The dead Sea" splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem 1912 OC razor with a Gem coated blade.

Well, let me start that with lifelong sinus issues my nose is picking up scents differently and milder than most individuals. The aroma starts with a Pina Colada aroma with the pineapple and Coconut, then I pick up a strawberry and orange scent. There is no strawberry in this so I am guessing it is the Passion Fruit. When lathering up, the Bay Rum kicks in and mellows out the sweetness of the top notes. Strength-wise, I would place this at a 6/10. Typical pre and post-shave performance as expected by Ethos.

I picked up the Bay Rum at the same time and compared the sample that you graciously provided me months ago to the jar of Bay Rum I bought, this current batch is a lot stronger. The sample scent I would place at 2-2.5 and new batch, or at least my jar I would place it at 5 or 6.
