Good technique information. Thanks, Joe. I will try that next shave -- I plan to use this brush for most of April to learn its quirks.
Wonderful shave Joe. I was given a Reynolds razor that was included in my major haul last month. I knew the brand had a great reputation and I finally experienced it first hand last Monday.

07 APRIL 2024 Days growth = 1 + Prep = cold water splash Preshave = None Cream = TOBS Jermyn Street Face Lathering Brush = Omega Razor = 37C Blade = Astra Superior Stainless (2) Passes = 2+ Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers, ASL = Pinaud Lime Sec Scent = Malak Perfume spray I skipped my usual prep and went straight to a face lather. It his high time I practised this more I still needed to load more of the cream into the brush for each pass, and then top up with more water else there was not enough left in the brush for each subsequent pass I miss having more than enough lather in the bowl for the shave It did feel a bit rough after 2 + passes so I called it a day and need to rethink the face lathering strategy It worked fine but not as well as with a full prep and a bowl full of lather No damage, and a very socially acceptable shave Personal satisfaction score only an 8
very nice write up John. If I read between the lines and understand you correctly, are you saying you prefer a synthetic brush for face lathering? Thanks Joe
Well, this was a tough week-end for me, as Knicks&Cuts dominated. This morning, I had 4 Knicks, two on each side of Porcupine. The cold-water rinse and Bay Rum A.S. helped ease the discomfort, but I still had'em. No problems anywhere else-all went well on the cheeks and neck. I had the same paraphernalia as yesterday, but for the brush-Razorock Plissoft 400. Fine brush, but I should have squeezed out more water fr0m it before going to work with the shave. Super Duper Mediocre.
fine shave Chris.not used the jermyn st before but i'm sure it's similar to others tobs.with these brit creams i always smear a bit on a wet face and let it sit while i build a lather in a bowl .i only face lather with arko from my old scuttle these days
