That's good news, look forward to trying it.

How does it compare the the US triangular slot.

i don't have a U.S version at present, but have a couple of canadian ones.they have a larger blade exposure than the efbt and U.S version, but feel very similar.the brit is a bit milder, and again i like the brit efbt versions with their nicer plating and cases/packaging.but that's just me.straight up shave i would say the triangle slot is a bit more efficient, though an extra pass fixes that up;)

Being a silly billy and posting daft comments can only mean you have either run out of crayons or completed your colouring in books again.

You weren't kidding how good the EFBT is, feels less aggressive than the triangular slot but shaves really close, no irritation cuts or weepers.

The Maggard MR1 handle gives it a nice weight, for the first shave I'm mighty impressed

Just a quick update, I bought another as a spare / travel razor and then a third as a spare spare, just to be on the safe side.

Still amazed at how well they shave.
Best razor I have tried in the 10 years I have been using traditional razors.

Years ago I bought 2 of these for my wifes sons didn't think to get myself one....d'oh

Are the caps and base plates common to all EFBTs or are there differences

there are 3 variants as far as i know, maybe more as well as a canadian version.
[IMG][IMG]the dirfferences are subtle, like all have different "made in england" fonts and locations, safety bar striations, and lather slot sizes.the canadian has a unique cap,and it's parts don't fit well with the brit version.
i remember a 4th brit version that has a continuous slot each side of the cap pins..but it's really rare..

In my personal experience if you are going to buy one of these style Gillette razors to shave with and not to collect the Canadian pre war Tech razors are the best performers.

    I h
I had one ages ago, very nice razor but at the time wasn't right for me, poor technique etc, wish I had kept it

You should still be able to pick them up at an affordable price if you want to scour ebay listings looking for those bargain type listings. Lots of times you can find one listed as generic Tech razor on a US listing.

With that said the EFBS issue for me is they are just too mild but if it works for you then that is what matters,
