I am fairly new to wet shaving and decided to continue to use my Olay face lotion as an AS. It works decently after washing your face, but not very well after shaving your face. After my (mild?) AD run, I shave my face with fantastic-feeling , great-smelling, hot lather. Putting the Olay face lotion on after shaving is like getting ready for a black tie event and then arriving in a 60's, polka-dotted Pinto.

So I decided to get JoAnna's milk AS, but the weather intervened. So I waited... While waiting, I started reading about Method Shaving. Very interesting. I will try the full procedure in the future, but I have way to many shave soaps to try it yet. But since I was needing an AS, I decided to try that portion of Method shaving.

I ordered the lime tonic spray and the peppermint conditioner and used it per the instructions on enchanteonline.com.

WOW! Simply awesome. That really brought my entire shaving experience to an entire new level. The tonic is good, but the combination is phenomenal. The peppermint conditioner is so refreshing. I'm so thankful that I decided to demote my Olay face lotion to a car hand lotion!

#1 on the Car conditioner and tonic

I think the combination is probably the best out there.

I have been using the Hydrolast conditioner for about 6 months now and have been loving it. It makes my skin feel great and I have no complaints about it. However I just received the Aromatic tonic and used it this morning. WOW! Combined with the conditioner it is an INCREDIBLE refreshing feeling. My skin felt much better than I have felt it. Definitely worth picking up for anyone and everyone!

I'm not a method shaver either but I am definitely going to pick up the Tonic/Conditioner combo. The only thing is which scents.

I'm thinking lime tonic/lime-green tea conditioner, but the peppermint sounds really tasty. Hmmm.

I'm presently using Skin Food and find it a little greasy. I think I'll be calling this weekend to mitigate the winter dry outs...can't wait to give this stuff a try.

I looked into Method Shaving...I got lost somewhere between trying to read the manifesto and watching the Mantic videos.

The Mantic videos were just fine by the way.

Still though...no Method Shaving for me.

Perhaps I am missing out on the greatest thing since sliced bread? I just do not have the attention span for it.

I know what you mean. Reading through the material gave me flash backs to University...re-reading the same page several times...seemed to take the fun out of it. I'll start with the AS and tonic and if they work re-evaluate method. It doesn't strike me as late for work friendly...

I ordered the tonic and balm yesterday. Hope to receive it in 5 to 10 days. Will review it in this thread shortly.

    cheers,

I did finally receive the tonic and balm a couple of weeks ago and have been using both since with great results. The results are pretty clear thusfar, better skin tone, less irritation and generally healthier skin. The first couple of applications were a little "greasy" for lack of a better term. However, after moderating the amount of balm, and I believe with consistent longer use, it seems to be working better over time. Maybe it's a product that takes a few uses to absorb? Not sure about that, but regardless I thing it's a great product for those with either sensitive skin and especially those with dry skin. I'm now using both the tonic and balm under my eyes with positive results. The only place I don't use - and you could I suppose - is on my forhead since I have combination skin and I feel it isn't necessary there.

So, just to summarize, they're great products. I will be continuing to purchase them when I run out, but I can't see that happening for some time since you use very little per use. Some may find it expensive ($35 for balm and $15 for tonic plus shipping). However, given the small quantity per use I find it very cost effective, especially when considering the results.

    Cheers,

    Doug
