  2. Thanks Jim. Realistically, any lather that you make is fine as long as it is slick enough for the razor to glide. Because I am primarily a straight and shavette shaver, I need to make sure my lather is hydrated. The more hydrated the soap, then the more slicker it becomes. Safety razor shavers can have lathers that are dense and that's fine. As long as you get a fine shave, then you have a good lather.
  3. i take slick over dense anyday.:) for me slick reduces friction which in turn reduces irritation.:)
  4. Can hardly wait!:D

Fantastic 39c shave this morning. The Merkur 39c (The Sledgehammer) is the hulkier version of the 37c. Same razor head but with a longer and heavier handle. Same great shave.

The English Gillette Popular and Egyptian Bolzano teamed up well, as did the blend of Italian ASL with the Middle Eastern Oud Wood

Fine two pass shave with minor touch ups
Superb face lather from the Jermyn Street, nearing its end
Blade was dulling just a bit, dutifully binned

I will put this reliable little razor to rest for a while

Have a great Thursday one and all

  18. Thanks Chris. It's just weird that I get a weep in the same spot on my head once in a blue moon. I agree that it does keep me on my toes.
