I realized I hadn’t reached for this nimble Schick in quite some time. I prefer the heft of the modern Supply Injector, but the shave was fun, smooth and efficient.
The focus is rolling along. Great lathers every day.

Thanks for all the well wishing posts- I’m doing better, but MrsSpartan is a day or so behind me in getting over the bug.
  3. Castle Forbes Finished :sick013:. Great stuff and I like their lime scent the best out of their line up.

Hart Steel 7/8, Pladin brush and MDCI Invasion Barbare were not enough to send the CF off...

So I went with one of my favorite blades, a fancy looking Dorko 7/8 with it's almost matching Rooney brush. SMN Acqua di Cuba for when I want a leather and cigar scent that's works in warm weather. CF is great stuff and I was adding liquid lanolin that pushed over the top.

May 6 I will head to Phuket for some R&R, until then I will rotate through some soaps to select the next 3017 victim.

  4. Congrats, Keith. Agreed, the CF Limes is a great product. Great straight up Lime scent and a slick, slick lather.
    A repurchase at some point?

  5. Yes, it is a definate repurchase. I will visit my brother in England this summer, so I will buy it then and avoid the shipping expense. It is one the few soaps I feel compeled to replace.
  6. 잘했어, Keith!
  7. congrats:):eatdrink047:

The contenders..both sets were purchased in the same era,2018 ish.while the razors won't stay the same i will at least use gold razors with gold product..;).have to maintain those matching pics..:D..I may take the odd Sunday shave off as a break..;)
i liked both sets when i got them, but got quickly overwhelmed with other product when the "chasing the soap base" race started up..i have gotten wiser (i hope) these days, but have a lot of excellent soaps and creams to use up and have been too spoiled to let finicky product hamper a shave.these are finicky by my standard, not modern williams finicky but they don't produce what one would expect from a good load on the brush.I think Jason @jtspartan had similar issues with his reserve sample..?
Both of my sets were stored in cool dry conditions so no issues there, this will challenge my OCD tendencies as i do get bored easily, but i do intend to complete this challenge..:eatdrink047:
    let the games begin..:)

Happy Friday Everyone! I seemed to recall getting very rough shaves from this Ever-Ready razor. I must have been mistaken. The shaves thus far have been stellar. I am pretty sure this razor will not be leaving the den after all. Take care and have a great day.
  11. awesome ever-ready Clint,funny how that works out..;):eatdrink047:

How do you pronounce Phuket? :shocked002:

BTW, scored a vintage bottle of the Caron. Looking forward to giving it a go upon return from "Hillbillyville"...aka Kentucky. @wristwatchb
Dr. Mrs. Primo and I, along with some long-time friends from Texas, are here glamping. The women-folk spent some time at the American Quilters Society Quilt Week in Paducah, KY.
  14. when you started shaving in '71,what type of shaver did you use?
  15. 와우! 한국아를 잘 한다! I see the language classes are paying off.
  16. A vintage bottle of Caron, most impressive. Does Hillybillyville have a Piggly Wiggly? Just asking for a friend.
  17. So this is a 6034 challenge :git:
  18. I believe it was an electric twin rotary Norelco I got from my grandfather. My girlfriend at the time; I was 15 she was 18 ;) after a makeout session, suggested that I need to shave my chin. I couldn't get to a razor fast enough. That peach fuzz was soon history.
  19. yes sir..:D:eatdrink047:
  20. thank you.:)..fuzz be gone.:eatdrink047:in '81 my dad gave me his old philishave with 3 rings,it bit me a few times, bad blade,so bic razors came next.:)
