Came back with Hub City Soaps(WTX)this morning and it was real good. Good Loading Dock work, clean &clear along the cheeks and sideburns(no need to redo a sideburn miss), both ends of Porcupine Alley came out well, ditto all of Cactus Nation. Very pleased. Stoylin Unscented A.S. again to finish. As Outstanding As It Gets.

Thank you Joe. The razor goes under various names, at a guess they are all made by weishi then renamed for selling and distribution purposes. It's a great little razor, which is ideal for daily shaving.

Good shave with Bigelow-Parkin razor, Joe.

I've completed eight daily shaves in a row with mine and will continue for another week or so. I'm using Feather blades and swapping 'em out every three days. It took a shave or two to get used to the grip. It helps (but is not an absolute requirement) to keep the pads of my index finger and thumb on my shaving hand dry. I take care to avoid the blade edge when flipping the head around with my opposite hand. As you said, it helps to rinse it often.

I'm still working on the ATG pass on my upper lip and just under my nose, but I expect to eventually master these moves. I shave slower and more intentionally with the B-P, which is probably a good thing anyway. The shaves are nearly as good as any I can get from a regular DE. (All properly designed razors shave well once you figure out how to use them. I truly believe that.) Only two weepers in the past week (bulb of chin and upper lip); otherwise, no blood on steel. The alum has been as quiet as well. It's a really nice travel razor, for sure.

I hope all is well in the mighty state of Florida. It is a fine place to be, according to me and several million other people. :)

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #543
    FWE Engels Special
    Hembree-Maggard Timberwolf Synthetic Brush
    Captain's Choice SC and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

It was time to have a straight razor shave and I picked this Engels vintage razor. I believe it's close to a 100 yrs old, if not more. Anyway, this razor is sharp and easily took off my stubble. 3 error-free passes did the job. I got a nice, close and comfortable shave.

I decided to use the Captain's Choice 49th Parallel shave cream. I usually do a face lather with creams, but decided to bowl lather instead. A pic is worth a thousand words. Here's my lather.

I didn't have any alum feedback. Finished with the application of the witch hazel and the matching aftershave. Take care.

Not sure if this is the same product, but it's made in Puerto Rico. Appears to be readily available on-line.

    (No shave Sunday 28th)

    2 days growth

    Adjustable Slim I4 setting 6
Agar Sterling, Omega 10049, Timeless bowl
Shark Super Chrome (3) then (1)
    ASL Fine Latigo

    Difficult shave today
    Slim set on 6
Shark Super Chrome felt draggy, binned after the 1st pass
    Fresh blade to the rescue
Still needed 3+ passes plus some close focus and attention

Overall a 9/10 shave, I regard this as a salvage shave
    No damage

Lesson: Day 3 Shark is not the best for a 2 days growth

    Great Monday to you all

This morning's shave would have earned a top grade were it not for 2 Knicks-one each at North and South Porcupine. Nice prep job in the shower from the Stoylin liquid bodywash(need not be said, but I said it anywayyy(HAAAAH-long lung breath); Lovely shave all around, except for Porcupine Alley. The Maggard brush picked up a lot of soap to set me up well. Good work from the matching CF aftershave. This is my second Sherlock scent(from Chiseled Face). Tobacco, Leather, Earth, and Pepper. Perhaps "Earth" looks better than "Clean Dirt". Anyway-Very Outstanding.

On the plane coming home from New Orleans. I didn't see any vintage razors in the antique shops, so I'm slightly disappointed. But I did see some nice, actually beautiful, antique French-style furniture though! Wow, I'm sure anyone that's been there has seen that!

I'll be ready for a shave tomorrow.:)
