I do not have any issues building a yogurt consistency with the Lavender or the Bay Rum, but the pre and post-shave feel is not up there with other artisan soaps.

Here my Wednesday Shave (12.06.2024)


Razor: Merkur 34c // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: SV Felce Aromatica // Brush: Olivewood Synthetic // Aftershave: Alum - Antiga Barbearia de Bairro

Today´s shave was shaving with an old friend. The Merkur 34c. My very first quality razor when i startet my wetshaving journey back in 2012.

The shave was as i expected it to be. Very smooth, gentle and thoroughly.

2,5 passes and i was done. BBS. The soap lathered up perfectly as ever. This scent…oh maaaaan this scent Applied the Alumwhich had only minor feedback and after that i used the outstanding Aftershave. I would call it a „dark“ and „mysterious“ Citrus scent. Absolutely stunning. Skincare is Top Notch and the scent lingers for a good amount of time.

A 10 out of 10

The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #450 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1905 Gillette Double Ring and the Nacet Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lucky Tiger After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My Wilkinson Sword blade really crapped out on me halfway through the second pass so I had to quit after doing that pass. The Williams Menthol cream smells so nice, it lathers great, it’s really slick, the menthol sensation is at a good middle of the road level and it’s very gentle on my skin. The Prep did a great job of soothing and moisturizing my skin while the Alt Innsbruck smells delightfully old school European and it gives a strong menthol kick. Two passes gave a pretty decent shave but it was far from BBS. Let’s see how I do tomorrow.

DE SOTD, Wednesday, June 12th 2024

Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation Mellon head 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316SSP handle. Mfg 2023> mid range. Machining and finish QC are excellent. Very hard to machine the top cap accurately as a journeyman machinist. This razor works well for getting the shave completed quickly if required or needed. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Astra SP (4) Sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock M.F , nice masculine scented cologne type of fragrance + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka Express" 26mm 2 band badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Big knot and handle are adequate for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock M.F splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon razor 316 SSP with a Astra SP blade.
