SE SOTD, Wednesday, June 5th 2024

Razor : Valet Auto-strop C1 Canadian variant. Mfg 1920's, mid range & upper mid range. This razor was abused by previous owners and I fixed it best as I could to be used 100 years later. I did modify the gap from 11/1000 to 7/1000 inch to help smooth the shave out. Had a close and comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (modified), very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to use .
Soap : Razorock Don Marco, distinct citrus scents with great lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Ever help full" 22 mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow soft tips, very nice scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Italian barber Amici splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Valet auto-strop C1 model razor with a modified Gem coated blade.

Two passes and touch ups with the SHaDE-Matic razor and the Half Gillette Silver Blue blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Derby City Chop Shop "Winter Reserve" After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Schick I1 - Personna Stainless #1 - DScosmetic T4 Synthetic - Signature Soaps Not Top Secret - Superdrug Sierran Breeze AS - Aloe Vera Gel
My recently acquired injector, with thanks to Mike, aka @MPF9. It can take twin blades but actually I wanted to try it with a single blade to compare with the G and E which have similar length handles, which I actually prefer.
The soap was generously gifted to me by Brian of Signature Soaps, after I told him about seeing a TSR member wax lyrical about his top secret soap, eventually revealed as coconut. I mentioned to him there aren't many coconut scents available. He did reply, saying that he is releasing new scents and coconut will be included.

SE SOTD, Friday, June 7th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to mid range depending on blade used or shim gap. Excellent machining and finish QC, simple clamping design with small head parts make for a excellent nimble shave.
Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain titian mild(3) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity in this razor. Top tier blade in the AC or 50mm SE blade.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer Rapier, very interesting scented soap that is kind of addictive to myself(Aramis classic dup) with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia" 22mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Small handle with a excellent knot that works for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel cleanse + Yaqi Musketeer Rapier splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE with a Kai captain titian mild blade.

Schick I1 - Personna Stainless #2 - Yaqi Heavy Metal - Signature Soaps Not Top Secret - Cien Aqua AS - Aloe Vera Gel

Second shave with my newly acquired Schick I, which I was delighted to say, gave me an exceptionally smooth result two days ago, coupled with the alternatively named ‘Not Top Secret’ coconut soap. Who's scent is gorgeous and performance is excellent.

Sunday shave, June 9th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm with a Yaqi Milano 316SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Simple blade clamping system and design. Small head parts are easier to assemble on a wash cloth for myself. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline (6) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : TOBS herbal Sandalwood cream, very nice fragrance IMO with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Black marble" 24mm Tuxedo knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum and sandalwood + a dollop of Geo F Trumper Sandalwood skin food.
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi 50mm SE Yaqi Excalibur razor with a Schick proline.

GEMonday, June 10th 2024.... Anyone who likes to use a American Safety Razor(ASR) corp razors with a Gem standard blade dimensions are welcomed any day of the week to show their gear and how their shave went + have questions about ASR gear on this Micromatic Monday thread!

Razor : Gem G bar, Mfg 1955-58, mild to tame mid range IMO. This little razor when dialed in is hard to beat, built to last + has a excellent chrome coated to protect for many Generations.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (7) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : TOBS Herbal Sandalwood cream, Very nicely scented Sandalwood with some the best lather qualities I have used IMO.
Brush : Yaqi "Barber pole" 24mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Nice all around shave brush that makes brush lathering enjoyable for my lathering needs + large handle for folks who like that feature.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum Sandalwood splash + a dollop of Geo F Trumper Sandalwood skin food.
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem G bar with a coated Gem Blade.
